Mimsy- you should try to get linked up with your local Deaf community too.. I think Jiro mentioned Deaf Coffee chats, and Deaf events... It would be an opportunity for you to connect with people on a more personal level, and you could practice your ASL skills. You might make some new friends too, which is always good...
