Lots of hyperbole tonight.
What exactly does that have to do with the OP? This is about a man being beaten senseless, not alcohol. You are simply attempting to reassign responsiblity to an inanimate object when it belongs with the individual. Sad.
The man in the OP was beaten senseless by drunks at a sporting event
Most likely, this is a crime of alcohol-infused stupidity. I really don't think this represents anything much deeper than that.
This is not a case of race or sexual orientation that fueled this; it is a case of drunken homerism. Why are you trying to sensationalize this? The only hate was some drunken idiot Dodger fans beating down Giants fans. It was brutal, stupid, and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. But I fail to see the connection to the standard of hate crimes. If this qualifies, then it dilutes the entire purpose of the hate crime legislation. Has any assault not been a hate crime? Is there love between the combatants?
It was, they had been taunting him during the game.. It was opening day in LA and they were heckling his Giants Jersey. Dodgers v Giants is a pretty big rivalry. Add alcohol and boom.
Be better to ban alcohol at these games. Just nuts.
Yeah sure. Clubbing this innocent fan would probably still seem like a good idea to them if they were sober. Alcohol never leads to bad decisions.![]()
Yeah, alcohol is innocent, I tell ya!
Fact is....their is a very large area (I will name it "the middle") between
"It's ok"
and
I say let the country without sports rivalry violence cast the first beer bottle.
Definitely.

Couldn't have missed that one.
How exactly, do you know they were "drunks"? So you are saying that a cup of beer took complete control of these two guys and made them do it? Wow, you give a lot of power to an inanimate object. I would think a frontal lobe could overcome something that doesn't even have a brain.
In fact, alcohol is not even mentioned in the report. You are just making an assumption with virtually no evidence whatsoever. You are looking for something to blame it on, and evidently, you have experience with the disinhibiting effects of alcohol at ball games. But that is projection on your part. Nothing here points to the assailants even drinking, much less being "drunks" as you called them.

Yes. He has a long recovery ahead of him, and he will never be back to where he was prior to the attack.
I agree. The violence and hatred in this country over little things is out of control.
I just can't believe this happen all because of a stupid game!!
I still think alcohol played a factor here. In fact, I'm quite sure of it. All it takes is for one person to get drunk and his personality comes out worse for the wear. It would make him vulnerable, too. Being drunk certainly doesn't hone your striking skills.

This was a HUGE story in the Bay area for months. Everyone was drinking according to witnesses I saw on the news. Even Stow who was double the legal limit. (at least they were going for a Taxi).
Proof? Nothing whatsoever in the report mentions alcohol. Assumptions again based on absolutely nothing. You think? Well, now, that will certainly hold up in court. Koko thinks it is true. Why would you need proof?
But, hey...we're used to you making stuff up. You do it several times a day.
For example, the motion challenges the lawsuit's claim that the Dodgers failed to promote the "responsible consumption of alcohol."
"As a matter of established law, a premises owner who sells or distributes alcohol cannot be liable for damages caused by an individual who consumes alcohol or becomes intoxicated," the defendants claim in their motion.
They add that moves by the franchise to bolster security after the Stow beating, including ceasing a "half-off" beer promotion and adding lighting in parking lots, cannot be used against the team. "Any such evidence is inadmissible," the defendants claim.

Like I said earlier, get rid of the alcohol at these games.
Got anything at all to support that? This article doesn't mention alcohol. If you have one that does, I'd be glad to read it.
I have posted one. And it's really easy to find reams just by Googling it.
