Ohio man excuted after vulgar last gesture

You have not seen this man nor was he a patient of yours.

So you are going by what you read, just like I am.

You may not have met this man either but I can assure you that jillio has dealt with many like him so I would think she's in a position to know what's she talking about.

I don't know what else to say. I can state that executing a person is wrong, and there will be folk jeering me for that. Flummoxing thread.

We may disagree but I certainly wouldn't jeer at you for that. I believe people can disagree about things without resorting to jeering and sneering.

it was stated in the article. Prosecutor and police knew and withheld the info. that's why one of 3 judges regretted his decision.

There have been many cases, where we put our faith into the Justice system and it fails us. At least we are not barbarians and take justice into our own hands, but that has happened before too.

If indeed the prosecutor withheld information, along with the Police, and the man was mentally ill, incompetent, not responsible for his actions....what is there to be done about it now that he is dead?

Why didn't the family speak up? Surely this is not a conspiracy just to execute the man? Was he being made an example of?

It is regretable that IF he was executed and was truly mentally ill.

Just because she have met some scizophrenic, does not mean this man was.
This man knew what he was doing. He was not out of touch. He was pissed off that his wife was going to divorce him.

I do not dispute that he has an illness. Since people that murder others, obviously has mental issues.

As I stated in a prior post it is the defense responsibility to obtain evidence not the prosecutors. How did the police with hold it. If the defense did not ask for it, how do they know it is needed for evidence. What evidence did the police supposely withheld?

I am sure no judge likes to sentence people to death, and some will have second thoughts and regrets.

I don't think it's any of the above. He had been locked away and forgotten, as so many mentally ill inmates are. He was no more than a number.

Please tell me how you can possibly know any of that. You can't. You are second guessing with virtually no information that allows for accuracy in your case. In other words, you are, quite simply being judgmental, and the worst is, being judgmental regarding something you have virtually no expertise in.

Like I said, and which you have conveniently ignored, I have spoken with 2 of the forensic psychologists involved with his assessment.

If public defenders did the best job possible we wouldn't have prisons full of the poor, the Black, the Hispanic, and the mentally ill disproportionately.

How many times do you have to be told that they withheld evidence of his mental state? Are you bothering to read any of the replies?

No more judgemental you are being towards the other side.

This is a good read. It has both sides of the story on it.

Court records. It also show why they opposed the clemency.

Too late. I have already ready the court records.

I'm not being judgmental. I am stating facts. Information was withheld. A judge from the panel has stated such publicly, as well as stating that he would not have voted for the death penalty had he had the information that was withheld. This was a miscarraige of justice and an inhumane act.

It is in black and white. Others can read and see the opposing side as well as the defending side. Experts spoke from both sides.

What you linked to are not court records. They are parole board hearing records.

Babyblue, rather compelling when he went to the extra effort to cover up his planned crime and post-crime cover ups. He understood the consequences of getting caught. With all those planning efforts don't strike me as as a person who was suffering from mental illness. I suppose Hitler's best friends would be some of those in the psychiatric community who would defend his crimes of humanity and give him a pass.

You are disgusting.
