Feds: Georgia militia group targeted U.S. cities

oh my.... I've never seen most of shows ya'all have mentioned except a few cartoons and couple of tv shows. I spent a lot of time outside in my youth.

So did most of us old folks. The thing was, there were only 4 or 5 channels on the TV, so we all got the same stuff.

I'd say we probably spent far more time outside than those of Jiro's generation.

how sad.....

I think our first tv was the one that had a wired remote control. Not sure exactly but I think that remote had 15 channels.

Yes. I was not a big fan of the prime time lineup with Dean Martin, Red Skelton, Lawrence Welk, etc. After dinner was outside time for me, along with a lot of the other time. No video games, internet, cell phones.

So did I, until dark. I roller skated, jumped rope, bicycled, scootered, played hopscotch, Mother May I, Red Light Green Light, marbles, swings and climbing, exploring, dolls, baton practice, jacks, skate boarding, going to the beach, going ice skating and sledding, playing in the pool, baseball, reading a book outside, walking to the library, going to the park, ...

Most of those programs were in the evening or Saturday mornings, and they were only 30 minutes each. Some how we packed in a lot of shows in a short time.

We had ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and occasional UHF Ch. 24 or 36 local programming that didn't come in well.

lol! I can never forget shows being 30 minutes long. I usually watch tv after school to wind down before going out to play or Kumon :mad2:

Family Matter. Saved By The Bell. Who can ever forget that Mr. Belding's awkward laugh?

We had the first 4 networks plus WTCN, which was an independent station. They had kids programs all afternoon with Casey Jones, Dave Lee and Pete, Grandma Lumpit, plus cartoons. Saturday night was All Star Wrestling! That was the channel I liked the most.

I liked Red Skelton and Ed Sullivan. My grandmother watched Lawrence Welk. A few years later we had Sonny and Cher, Jonathan Winters, and Carol Burnett. Those were good variety shows.

Yeah, I admit they were. But it was my duty as a boy to dislike them! :P

I remember Casey Jones, if it's the same one.

I didn't like wrestling but I like Destruction Derby and Roller Derby.

Our UHF was 19, and we could only get it of someone set next to the TV and grounded the antennae by holding onto it.:P

Adam-12 and Emergency were my favorites. Mostly in reruns of course

I almost forgot, National Velvet and My Friend Flicka.

Loved Jonathon Winters and Carol Burnett. But I was a Dean Martin fan, too.

In the pre-remote and pre-cable days, the kids of the family were the channel changers, antenna tuners, and volume controls.
