Nice videos! Those are good close-ups on how to do the methods you're describing.

Where in Michigan are you from? I grew up down in the southwestern corner of the state, on the lake, and have relatives up in the Keewanauw, too.
 
Thanks!! I will try that next time.. I am guilty of rinsing them off in water, before I cook them. :)

I wipe my mushroom off with a damp paper napkin. We had a lot mushroom from all the rain we had late month , I wish I knew how tell which one are edible ! When we had our summer camp in NH dad picked some wild mushrooms and he was going to eat them ,but my sister and I told dad they could be poisonous! Dad been drinking and said if you cook the mushroom with a sliver dollar and the water turn black the mushrooms are poisonous! So dad did this, but when his back was turned my sister and I dumped the mushrooms out! Dad was too drunk to notice!! I have no idea if you can really can tell if mushroom are poisonous by boiling them with a sliver dollar! It sound likes an old wives tale to me!!
 
Eew. Sounds like an old wives' tale to me too. Sometimes those old wives were pretty smart, though.

You were smart to dump them out, though. Sounds like ol' Dad didn't really know what he was doing.
