Since this website doesn't allow religious debates. So, why not ban Abortion debate too? Since Abortion is very hot topic and can cause outrage easily. Just saying. :cool2:

It's a political matter - not a religious matter. Threads don't get nearly as locked up on AD as threads concerning religions and beliefs.

Abortion debates include elements of law, morality, religion, politics, culture, economics, science, medicine, etc.

I agree with this! Religion plays a huge part in the debates about Abortion !

why not put topic reason important to reason!< I already know reading rule on strict!

if suppose newbie on member learn it mistake on broken in law

Joey - I don't remember the Religion part of the forum being open at all since I've been active here. Apparently, it is too controversial of a subject and people get extremely heated over it. I do agree that abortion is also a hot topic, but not nearly as much as religion. Politics is also a hot topic, but is a good thing for us to keep around. It all comes down to choosing you battles. Alex and the mods have decided that the Religion Forum was a battle they did not want to constantly battle. While I may or may not agree with the decision, I do try hard to respect their decision.

rule on strict to important, already you know on reading on on rule on follow alldeaf!
nobody said netural

I remember when it used to be open. And threads got closed/locked left and right.

I would suggest for anyone who really wants religious discussions, to go to any other religion forum for that. For example, I am a member of several forums, such as AD, photography, web design, pets, poker and the like (that focuses on that specific interest.) Others should do the same -- anyone can come to AD and engage in deaf-related threads and general chat (and everything we have here), and then go on to another site for religious discussion. Or abortion discussion. Or anything else. If Alex doesn't want it open here, then that's it. Period.

As said before - google religious debate forums, there's tons out there.

The problem is, even when trying to avoid strictly religious topics, the religious perspective can't be left out because it is so foundational to many things.

Also, at least from my practice, I don't initiate religious topic threads but I do respond when other people make posts that either mock Christians, or give erroneous information about Christians and the Bible. If the prohibition of religious discussion was enforced across the board, that would be different. Really, what do the Mods expect Christians to do when a thread, for example, is titled about "Christians whining?"

I wouldn't want to participate in religious discussions at landoverbaptist.org. Debates at its finest :eek3:

If an abortion topic affects the deaf community, then it should absolutely be discussed. Every woman is affected by it though, and it's certainly not just a religious debate.

That's not debate - that's a 'christian' hate site where they blatantly call outsiders 'unsaved trash' and they openly preach out against homosexuality and encourage their members to hate homosexuals and to blame homosexuals for all of the troubles of the USA.

To me, there is no such thing as unsaved trash - they are preaching a false message of hate and wickedness. They are more concerned with the speck in another person's eye rather than the plank in their own eye. That site made me sad, really. :(

How can these trolls keep this up though? Especially in a such persuasive way to the unknowingly audience/newcomers to that site.

It's really fake, but they keep it genuine. They also delete posts that states otherwise.

To me, as a Christian, I just feel like that site spews hate. Nothing more.

Have you read the messages in their forums? (Landoverbapist.net)

It's really hilarious, however its a satire at a high level, high enough to lure and fool many people into trying to be "saved". I'd say they're doing a good job, but good riddance should they come to a unfortunate event. Not so funny and trollin anymore...

Come check the Harry Potter section for yourself.

Edit: I don't approve the messages nor have hate against any religion, but the site will delete messages and ban those trying to send message about the site being fake.
