what is true love?and what is does it mean to you?

I think it does exist, but Disney made it up to be bigger than we imagined it to be. :P

true love... ahh to be young and naive . you know you have the one at first sight. to grow old and with grand kids...

True Love

Hmmm, I must have missed something because I do not understand the Disney reference... Is there a difference between Love and True Love?? Hmm
Mr Webster says..TRUE is "being consistent with reality or fact" so I would have to say that when I tell anyone..I love you, it is for me true love. I mean it..laughing..if I say it to my nephew.. it's true love. I used to tell my companion dog of 14 years I love you, all the time, it was true love. I would never tell someone I love them if I didn't. and each time I say it, it is my reality and it is a fact ! I think, perhaps, some ppl throw the word LOVE around too easily.. they use it to manipulate others, to please parents, to somehow make others feel wanted or needed. I just know that I believe love can heal, comfort, even save a spirit that has suffered or is suffering.
It is a commitment to say I love you..at least for me...I know that's not true for everyone. I do see reality clearly. So yes ! I not only believe in true love i know I have given true love to many in need. and yes I mean it as a fact..
Think about that..it is easy to say the words, but to mean them is another thing all together...smile..Peace always..Midnight♥♥♥

I don't know if "true love" exists in the way we see in many films. But I do know that to love someone means being true and truthful to that person. It's not something that exists outside of me in some other "perfect" person, but something that I develop within me. It's hard at times and can be easier to deceive and lie instead.

I heard of people falling in love at first sight and one of my aunt felt this way about her husband. He dies of a broken heart when their only child a son dies in a drowning accident. My aunt told my mother that she will never marry again as she had all the love a woman for wish for!! I named my new dog Marty after my cousin that I never met! My aunt and uncle had true love and my aunt never did marry again.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, (Ephesians 2:4)

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Some poet said that love is the force that drives the green fuse. Seems about right. :)

True love is being able to "put up" with each other for 60 or 70 years.
Hubby and I are half way there. We've been married over 35 years. (We do more than just "put up" with each other. :giggle: ) I hope we live long enough to celebrate 60 or 70 years together. :)

Growing into our mid 50s and still laughing together. *points to husband, smiles, making an S on my chest* He is still my hero, even if the grandkids think we are silly old folks.

To me, simply put, it's about knowing all the flaws and quirks about each other and still loving being together.

I really don't get the Disney connection to true love. :dunno:
