Ally ASL just notified us via Facebook that her YT account got a warning that her account would be terminated if she uploaded any new videos signing to music!

UPDATE! So unfortunately I have been "warned" that if I upload any new songs onto YouTube, my account will be terminated - indefinitely (as in forever). Working on what I'm going to do about this... :(

Ally ASL on Facebook

Let's give Ally our support and find a way to help her keep her rights to give the deaf access to music and not barred by greedy corporations.

Personally I find this as a form of discrimination against the deaf by denying us access to music via a deaf interpreter.

Thanks

Unlikely to have much of a leg to stand on, since they're just as likely to give takedowns of any videos, signing or not, of their music, because people enjoying "their" music without forking over wads of cash is evil to them.

Yeah, to them even if you whistled a tune, you're violating copyright doing that.

Just goes to show how evil and greedy BIG CORP really is. Capitalism at it's finest. :madfawk:

We even can't said "Happy Birthday to you" on youtube :)
It's under copyright until 2030

It's safe to say in Europe after Dec 31, 2016

WTF are you serious??

*Looks up Google*

Apparently it's saying that Michael Jackson copyrighted Happy Birthday. WTH?? Well that would explain partly in his death, he just pissed Karma off.

What about other people on youtube who does sync lips and sings a song and they even didn't get warned by youtube? I don't see any common sense why Youtube ONLY choose Ally ASL?

Yeah I just don't get it. Suddenly they're on her ass AFTER her media exposure and when the dust settles with no one watching them, they pounce on her ass again. Like they're pissed cuz they got made a fool of after a media exposure that made YT and the recording companies look bad after the closed down her YT account the first time. Somebody is holding a grudge against her.

YouTube didn't choose anyone, they were (presumably) given a DMCA takedown by someone from the RIAA. They simply passed that along to this person. They only sent it to her because their time costs money and is expensive, so they only bother going after people who are popular, since those are the people who (they think) are costing them much money.

Well of course they're going to go after her after media exposure. Beforehand she was less well known, and in their eyes, they weren't "losing as much money" from her. (Also, they likely had no clue who she was beforehand.)

If she's big enough, then of course they'll be watching her to ensure she doesn't do it again. It would be pointless of them to shut down infringing accounts if the people could just keep doing it over and over, lol.

Shut one down and 10 more will pop up. It's an endless game.

RIAA lied that they're losing money, rather it's the opposite. Sales went up after sampling free music and the reason why is because they want the original copies as digital copies is not reliably safe. Computers and handheld pads will crash, thus wiping out digital copies of their music. A CD safely stored ensures that no loss of their music collection occurs and therefore they can still continue to listen to their favorite tracks at any given time.
