Trump: Obama Must Release Birth Certificate

Are you certain that racial hatred was preached for all of those years?
It might not have been preached every week. I hope not. But for myself, if a preacher gave even one racist sermon, I would change churches. Do you think Obama never noticed any racist sermons? I guess that's possible if he slept thru them. But the Rev. Wright seemed to be a pretty lively preacher, so that would be hard to do.

Does this mean you now believe he went to a Christian church for 20 years?
Now? I never said that he didn't. If he says he attended that church for 20 years I have no reason to doubt that.

There was some discussion on his level of "Christianity" dedication.
I don't know his Christian salvation experience, nor do I know its fruits. I haven't read anywhere his testimony of his born again experience so :dunno: One sign of a born again Christian is the willingness and joy of sharing one's testimony of the born again experience.

The difference here is that I don't care if he is a Liberal or a Conservative. You do. That means you will not look at him with a completely unbiased eye. Not telling you this is wrong. I am telling you we will never agree because of that.
You never know. ;)

Well, if he's not a left winger, and he's not a right winger, what is he?

Actually, it appears I need to update my position.

How Liberal Is President Obama? - NYTimes.com

Specifically, this chart:

Going with the basis of the article, it would appear that while Obama is clearly nowhere near the category of "MOST LIBERAL PRESIDENT EVAR" (which is the overhyped rhetoric that you often hear about him), he's also not "not a liberal at all".

Going by these numbers, it would appear that while Obama is about half as Liberal as Bush Jr. and Reagan were Conservative, he's about middle of the line for modern Liberals and historical Democrat presidents.

This, especially, stuck with me:
Nevertheless, there is some support for the notion that Democratic presidents take positions that — while still quite liberal — are at least somewhat more amenable to compromise. By contrast, Republican presidents push as hard as they can to the right and let the chips fall where they may.

How does Obama see himself? How does he label his political direction?

How did we get from demands for birth certificates and school records to how liberal he is? Is there some connection there?:laugh2:

Reminds me of the old Frankenstein movies, where the townspeople all stand outside with pitchforks and burning torches, chanting and waiting for a glimpse of him. Every time he gets near the windows, the crowd lets out a roar.

I didn't think he could stoop to such buffoonery. Clearly I was mistaken.

I do hope this guy runs for president so that it can ruin him financially and symbolically. What a jackass.

I was mistaken about him as well. Well,Trump will do anything for attention. I have lost all respect for him.

I think he lost a lot of possible voters by going this route. According to the news, he's admired by both the Black and Hispanic community for being rich.
I dunno about him being a racist but I'm certain he'll do anything for attention.

I didn't know you respected him in the first place.

He's been on my no respect list for years.

He's an interesting person but not someone I would look up to.

I'm glad that he did bring up the problems with China. At least that might get people thinking.

I see the comparison. Very apt!

All I know is, I am skeptical of how grounded in reality the man is given the fact that he still believes he has hair.

I had respect for him if only for his skill to make money. He lost me on China. We can't afford to have China pull the plug on us financially.

Trump is a big spoiled baby in giant diapers. He will start raving lunatics first time he doesn't get his way. He already started to with his f bombs in Nevada.
No class. All that money and no class. tsk tsk.
Thank God he ain't a democrat.
his hairstyle is telling. POMPous ass.

I've seen pixs of Trump in the past, and he had very little hair, wasn't bald or anything, but basically sort of like "flat hair". ...Now I'm seening all this "bushy" hair...Could be a hair piece or something he's wearing? Or he got his hairdresser to "tease" it...with all that moolah, at lease he could get a decent haircut. :giggle:

Color me most skeptical. I'm a little surprised that Nate Silver would run with this, although to be fair, he did express some reservations. However, he goes as far as to call the process "objective". I have to wonder how they judged each bill's "liberalness" or "conservativeness". How did they go about assigning weightings to each bill? Surely they wouldn't count a small cigarette tax increase as much as an entire reworking of the health care sector, or at least I would hope.

One could try all day to be objective on something so subjective and slippery, but at the end of the day, it's just six guys sitting around making these inherently subjective decisions. I would bet my whole paycheck that you could get several groups of six people to do the same thing and none of them would replicate the results on this chart.

The fact that Nate does reference them (several times in the past, as well) lends weight to the process, to me - he's been very good, historically, about weighing the objectivity of sources and determining whether they're biased in any manner. As for the process of using the DW-NOMINATE scores, like you said, he does express some reservations, and it's very likely that you could get other political scientists to re-rank everyone with slightly different categories, but the primary benefit of such a system is that it is open - you can see how was made, and more to the point, it's a stable system. It might not with 100% certainty tell you "Oh yes, Bush Jr. was definitely twice as conservative as Obama is liberal" but it can tell you "Obama isn't significantly more liberal than past Democratic presidents."

How does Obama see himself? How does he label his political direction?

Would you trust any politician's self-labelling? I'm sure he considers himself a "liberal-leaning moderate".

How did we get from demands for birth certificates and school records to how liberal he is? Is there some connection there?:laugh2:

I think I drove it that way, since the BC thing was silly and uninteresting.
