We are really getting a lot of tornadoes in the Midwest this spring. A town in Iowa was pretty much obliterated earlier this year also.

Contrary to popular opinion, tornadoes are not limited to Tornado Alley. The deaths are from lack of shelter during the storms. A few days ago a HUGE tornado struck St. Louis but there wasn't a single death (and I don't think any injuries, either) because basements are the norm for houses. It will get worse before it gets better, trust me.

I saw the videos of some of these tornados on the news...frightening monsters!

I saw what I thinks was called Vilonia on the news last night. Pretty bad.

Yes, it is Vilonia. It's a very small town just 5 miles north of Conway. The whole town was obliterated. They have barred non-residents and non-Emergency Personnel from entering the town. Authorities have stated on the news that if you are not a resident or if you are not helping emergency crews you will not be allowed into the town for safety concerns as they are still trying to locate missing residents.

We had a feed truck driver from Wayne Farms here in D-ville mysteriously disappear when he was making a delivery. They found his fully loaded feed truck still running near Birta but the man has not yet been found. I hope he didn't try to wade through water and ended up being swept away and drowned.

Wirelessly posted (sent from a smartphone. )

There was a tornado shown on the radar moving at 70 mph about a half hour ago. Theres 10 deaths in AR and 5 in Miss.

It is 11 now I'm afraid. They found the body of the truck driver in the a culvert this afternoon. He had waded in water to move a tree or branch that was blocking his way and was swept away in the flooding. :(

Aw, that's sad. Not looking good in Alabama either.

Hello, I'm ok from tornado and in few hours ago, we ordered to go in safe place as tornado passes into our county but in after 15 minutes, it has been over and no damage in our neighborhood but unsure about entire of our city. I'm upset after interpreter told me that our college will close all day tomorrow because I need go to class and have review for final exam in next week. I need to keep check tomorrow as well. The storm in Alabama has been really bad in all day but much worse in after afternoon. :(

One of my interpreter's house is serious damage and she cannot get her car out, also roof has been off as more holes in ceiling.

Sorry for your state. I just saw it on the news, and Alabama has terrible damage. :(

I'm glad that you are okay and yup, the weather has been very crazy right now.

I heard Tuscaloosa and Birmingham were hit pretty hard. What about Selma, AL???

A wave of tornado-spawning storms strafed the South on Wednesday, splintering buildings across hard-hit Alabama and killing 72 people in four states.

At least 58 people died in Alabama alone, including 15 or more when a massive tornado devastated Tuscaloosa. The city's mayor said sections of the city that's home to the University of Alabama have been destroyed and the city's infrastructure is devastated.

Eleven deaths were reported in Mississippi, two in Georgia and one in Tennessee....

:(

This has been a terrible tornado season.

Yup, you are right about it, also Cullman is hit so hard too.

I'm not sure about Selma because I haven't get information about result in Selma and Montgomery, however, my friend in Auburn said that she is okay and just bad storm but no tornado.

We got the start of the storms, but it really opened up when it reached Alabama. Was it because it hit more metro areas or was it because people disregarded the severity of these storms?
