what anti-Muslim hearings? in case you didn't read, this thread occurred in France, not America. and no I don't think their policy is dangerous.

beside - they are free to move back to wherever they're comfortable with. it's free country... but they don't get to make their own rule and they don't get to say - hey it's what I do back in my home country and so should you! :dunno:

First, I talked about what was happening in America and what was happening in France.

Second...

"Move back to"?

WTF.

Haven't I heard this before? "Go back to Africa!" "Go back to Mexico!" Hmm...sounds vaguely familiar...while France does have a high immigrant population, did it ever occur to you that SOME PEOPLE WERE BORN TEHRE?!

No, but one of my Muslim friend's grandmother once baked me some homemade cookies and was seriously concerned that I couldn't eat them because her kitchen wasn't kosher! Now that's cute.

My Jewish friends' moms would behead me if I didn't eat their cooking. :o

One of my employers is a Muslim from Turkey. He also cooked for me once, right here in my kitchen.

He is a single father, two kids. I tease him all the time .... "You didn't put anthrax in that pizza did you?"

He gets it :giggle:

"Go back to ----" is not the same as "Feel free to move to wherever you're comfortable with". Do not get confused there.

Again - while France and America do have a high immigration population... the immigrants do not get to say - "hey this is what my people do in my home country and so should you!" Sorry but that doesn't just jive with me.

In my home country... which is Korea - some people especially poor/country people do eat dog. That is animal cruelty in America. Should I demand America to allow me to eat dog meat on the basis of cultural difference?

Your treading on a very thin line on the wall of seperation. What is next, banning a nun's habit?

there's a difference between private property and public property. what they do in their own property is their business. me no care. now on public property.... now that's a different story.

Me treading a very thin line? not at all. They are attempting to convert a foreign country into their own country. :nono:

In case you forget, I'm an immigrant :D

ahem. This suggests that you are saying, "Go back to xyz if you don't like it."

Like I said, not every burqa-wearing Muslim woman is an immigrant.

How is wearing a burqa hurting you? Or your dog?

So Catholic nuns cannot wear their habits in public? :hmm:

Its a religious thing. Burqas have a significant religious meaning to Muslim women, it is part of their identity.

edit: I should have said jilbāb

Maybe we shouldn't allow Koreans on public property unless they're veiled.

Or let Deaf have access to any public service unless they wear CI.

Or let Jews wear kippot in public.

Or let black people vote in public elections.

Or let Christians run for government.

yeah, the hijab is the head scarf.
the burqa is the full length covering.
the naqa is the veil.

still, a burqa is important to many Muslim women. and this law in France is not about religion. it's about anti-Muslim sentiment.

FYI - Catholic nuns are not covering their faces.

I fail to see your analogy. As usual - another fallacy. Again - people as listed in your post - Koreans, Deaf, Jews, black people, or Christians are not covering their faces.

Again - we have Anti-Mask Law which was declared by Supreme Court that it does not violate First Amendment especially for Klu Klux Klan.

Did they tell people to wear them? If not, then they are not making attempts to convert them.

they want us to bend over for them.

There are some that do. Its called a veil.

The Veil in Christianity

is the same law going to apply to them, or is this law exclusively aimed at Muslim women?

um... again - nuns are not covering their faces. try to read more carefully this time. I'm repeating myself 2nd time already. Let's not make it 3rd time.

Refresher Post for ya'all on my stance in this issue -

I have a mixed thought about it but for photo ID, she will need to remove her burga. Many banks have policy stating that mask or anything covering one's face is not allowed in.
