research questions

And if you were educated, you'd know that I live in New York and have an inability to drive to ISD to just find out for myself. And that kind of information should be online. At least an article. I wouldn't rely so much on the word of mouth. A lot of people could use that information for their research paper and I wouldn't want to use rumors as the source.

Deafies have a way of twisting the words to try and make their deaf institute sound like an excellent school and that could be the case of what you heard.

if you were educated - you can see that he was telling Alex to go drive there since it's 62 miles away, not you.

I'm playing the devil's advocate.
not TheWriteAlex's sidekick?

Where's the source for ISD? If someone wants that useful information you mentioned, they'd need to cite it in their research paper... Where's the source?

please re-read his post carefully.

Can you please explain to me why the state of Indiana is currently suppressing the Superintendent of ISD's FOIA rights to gather information to compare the deaf students in 1,500 schools throughout the state vs ISD to see how many students pass the state exams?

The last time he was able to do that he was able to prove ISD beat the mainstream out on amount of students percent wise passing the state test.

Just curious - did you also research that?

so since Superintendent's request was suppressed.... you can take a hint on what's going on here.

It's your prerogative to believe it or not. If I recall correctly, Alex is free to drive 62 miles to ISD to find out for himself.

Post 98, case closed.

And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't so I wanted the information for myself. I'm not going to force Alex to drive there just to quench my desire of knowledge.

I doubt you were here for a desire of knowledge. You're being a gnat parroting Alex's posts. :)

This thread is getting nowhere due to the lack of ability to debate. Case closed. The argument has nothing to do with OP's question, thanks for derailing it.

That is not a source. PFH made a claim. He has no evidence to back it up. I'm not going to drive down to Indy to investigate whether what he says is true or not. Where did HE get his information? Since he obviously did not drive to ISD either...

thank you and alex for contributing to derailment.

As you can see in the beginning - I have repeatedly tried to steer this thread to stick with OP's question. oh well. sad that we deafies are bickering over it when we actually acknowledged the problem and it's not getting anywhere because of trivial personal issue not related to this.

just sad.

I actually have no desire to name drop. But I'll say this much; I socialize with Deaf people from Indiana personally.

Just as recent as last weekend too.

I gave you the directions to the source. The information is there, you can go and get it if you wish.

But it makes me glad to see CSDF, ISD, MSD share the same general statistics that I was speaking of.

can I assume that you disagree with what he claimed in his post #65?

Nice tactic. Trying to regain control, I see.

Calling your bluff. :giggle:

wondering why the silence on your post #98 :dunno:

How many CSD students graduate with diplomas?
According to the California Department of Education, only 8% of all deaf and hard of hearing students in the state of California pass California High School Exit Exam while 50% of students at the California School for the Deaf pass HSEE. Furthermore, students who attended the Early Childhood Education have 90% to 100% chance of passing HSEE.

I have no idea if it's true or not. That's why I wanted him to provide sources. What he offers as a source is a joke. That's what I'm throwing the BS flag at.

I understand but I'd like to know your opinion based on his claim. Is it bullshit? Do you completely disagree?

Since lanapoo claimed that you are more experienced than me, know more about deaf culture than me, and go to deaf events far more often than me, studied culture and written about it for at least a decade.... surely you may have at least heard about it or not.

Ah, ah... I lose.........

Alex was right. There is another way to get the information.

Indiana Department of Education
Feel free to file a FOIA request (this is the actual source). Either that or go to ISD.

Lanapoo, there it is online for you to satisfy your intellectual needs.
