A film about a deaf person

If CI's are so good, why don't you have one?

I read your post fully, and it doesn't make sense to me. We need to show the hearing audience that we're able. So these without CI's can get jobs..

Filmmaker needs budget to make a movie. Proposing this kind of movie to CI company... no chance lol. Then who else? Gally? Sorenson?

Well, I'm probably the only AD'er who wants captions with his signs (PBS' Deaf in America; I got like 80% of that without captions) :roll:...heyyyy I'm learning.

"The reality of being deaf"? :hmm. I haven't seen many movies where deafness is portrayed- I've never found a fictional character who is hard-of-hearing or with single-sided deafness....you're not going to find a very receptive audience when the protagonist is saying "what?" a few dozen times.

Technology can be a *itch so, be careful about that being a "focal" point in the movie. There was some show on MTV a while back and I'm sure it was about a dude getting a CI because I had co-workers the next day asking me if I ever would consider getting one. "no...what are they? a coc-what?...a coc-ring? :shock: jeez. man.. that's gross"
 
It's too bad either of you can't engage in rational debate without resorting to manipulative word twisting. Any logical thinking person can read my posts on this thread and see the points I was trying to make and see that you two are just a couple little trolls.

The screenplay:

Man. Born deaf in one ear and mostly deaf the either ear. Early teens, on the fence of getting CI as his hearing isn't as "great" as he wants it to be. A few days before CI surgery, his gf threatens to leave if he receives it and then kabam after successful "adaption" to career family/kids...gets hit and killed by a train. The End.

Sprinkle other social awkwardness/jokes/feel good stuff in between and that should be fairly decent.

That is what has happened to me several times. Hence the fact I am not too keen of having the concept of CI's being shown on TV.

Maybe I am seeing things, maybe not.

But I know who you are. I probably know you well compared to other ADers because of the conversations we've had and I'm telling you to just let the debate be more fluid, mature like adults because every time Alex posts, you start to nitpick at every detail, every word, and it's starting to get tiring.
