I've been reading a lot of posts from someone who likes to post a lot on here, especially about relationships and schools. People were saying he was autistic and cannot really understand subtle messages. This intrigued me because I have a stepson who is autistic plus I'm especially trained to work with children with this condition.

Yeah, shoot me for reading through the threads...anyways, I've studied linguistics for a while now. I've come to the conclusion that there are some real inconsistency with his grammatical patterns. In other words, he's writing this way on purpose. He's trying really hard to sound like someone with broken English, but he isn't cutting it.

The latest thread in the Relationships session just confirmed my suspicions.

It was...but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

The last thread I read, I was like, oh geez. It's SO obvious it's a faker. Wow, I'm jealous though. I wish I had time like that do play around. :roll:

I wouldnt mind having some time like that to play around but to make it a daily existence? No, thanks. Doesnt seem healthy to me.

That's funny because I know who he is in real life, apparently we share mutual friends...:ugh: (He's real.) Maybe his brain is just very inconsistent and uses AD to boost his self confidence and ego.

God , I wish you wouldn't. Having over 50 years experience, with a diagnosis of autism at a young age, lots of therapy, upgraded or changed to Asperger's when it entered the DSM, I don't think your writing style has much to do with it.

Asperger's syndrome patients usually write at a high level , and if inconsistency is what you see that make you think he does not have it, that is not good reasoning.

Stress and anxiety also plays a big role on how a person on the autistic spectrum functions on any particular day.

That actually makes perfect sense. Stress or anxiety could cause anyone, as well, to write differently.
