Speaking and signing called key to richer life

Nope, that was what you said. 30 others saw it too.

You are lying and you know it, just like you were lying in your arguement with Rockdrummer this morning. I didn't say that and you know what I did say.

You really need to stop telling me what I want. You have virtually no idea what I want. You misread and misinterpret every single post I make, and all here see it. You and Grendel are terribly defensive and quick to anger when reality slaps you in the face.

You value spoken language over signed language. Your decisions are indicative of the fact that you believe that hearing makes one more valuable than not hearing. Audism is based on that belief. You can provide ASL and still be audist. You simply do not understand the meaning of audism.

I won't tell you what you want, but I can tell you that you need to stop making these proclamations about what other people value and labeling people as audists. It's not your place to do so and it's not productive for anyone -- not even yourself: you are working yourself into a very scary lather. This attack mentality you have going on just tears at the people around you, rips up what could be an informative thread or an evolving discussion. There's no breakthrough possible with you, there's no opening for understanding because you so quickly go for the jugular, for the cruel and personal cut. You are putting on a show, and it's irresponsible and mean.

Sounds like a certain few other posters here.... Not Jillio.

Nope, you said that, in one sentence. *shrugs*

I specifically said it was NOT because they were deaf but because they missed out on early language opportunities or because they were writing a language that they struggled with.

I'm not making proclamations. They are. And I am labeling attitudes, not people. Your comments regarding my mentality hold virtually no weight. Everyone sees that I am not attacking anyone. I am making observations based on the words posted and what they reveal. The fact that you feel attacked by that is more a clue to what is going on with you than anything to do with me.

right... if that was the case, why did a moderator feel the need to delete your post and ban you for it?

Thats what I have seen from you. It's clearly evident in the quote Grendel used.

But yes, I think Grendel is a bit unrealistic in both her assessments of her daughter's progress and what the future holds for her daughter, and is overly sensitive to anything that suggests her daughter may encounter many stumbling blocks and adjustment issues. But hey, a lot of parents refuse to see that their child is not the most unique child in the world. But chances are greater that a deaf child will encounter the same things that I see deaf kids going through for the last 20 years, simply because of the attitude of "my kid will be different" than the chance that she will be one of the few phenominal poster kids.
On the other hand, I do think she is a little more realistic then some of the parents out there. Remember, she is not one of those "therapist" moms, and neither has she done intense AVT or auditory oral. ...and I mean Li Li using the word adombible (sp?) is pretty damn impressive! I do think you're right in saying that it is a little too soon to tell if there will be any issues or not. There are tons of kids who do well around preschool and kindergarten.....that just means that the gap isn't as huge as it was back in the old days.

And we both know that kids that perform on par with hearing peers at kindergarten and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade begin to fall behind at about 4th grade and the gap widens as they get older. Social issues don't even become evident until 10-12 years of age.
Yes, I think that is what faire joure and Grendel are missing. Spoken language acheivement in early years does not equate with a smooth ride down the end of the line. It's just that those issues can be more taken care of in public sped, since they are functionally hoh rather then classfied as Deaf. Heck even back when I was a kid, it was VERY common for kids to transfer to Clarke, or CID or the oral programs after falling behind in school.

Because people report everything I write. I bet this post gets reported  People here want to close their eyes and pretend that they have it all figured out and pat each other on the back all day long, saying "Nobody gets it except us", and whenever someone bothers to dissent, they are attacked until they finally give up and leave, or get banned. And then you go back to your "+1" posts.

Oh, and I reported that Mod for banning me based personal reasons!

I wouldn't disagree that she is a little more realistic than some.

Nor did I report yours, a few other members didnt report yours. *shrugs* not my problem. I sit here confident knowing others saw the same thing I saw.

Thats all I need. Feel free to go and be your defensive self, like usual.

Have a good night.

You are lying AGAIN. I don't know why you bother to pretend. You know what I said, and you know what you said, and we both know you are lying.
