Did you know that espionage and treason are basically same thing. Espionage is a treasonous act.

Espionage Act of 1917 - Title I - Espionage

Current Law - US Code Title 10, Subtitle A, Part II, Chapter 47, Subchapter X, Section 906A - Espionage

Based on US Code... Assange does not meet any of legal statutes as listed above. Therefore - he cannot be charged under Espionage Act of 1917. USDOJ does not support your statement either. You have failed to provide any USDOJ's statement that supports your statement.

I think I've dived in quite a lot deeper than you. again you still haven't proven any single iota of your rambling. :laugh2:

btw - you forgot that Espionage Act of 1917 was already amended and revised :laugh2: so I don't know why you kept referring to already-outdated legal statute. It's no longer called as Espionage Act of 1917.

The USDOJ gets to decide whether he can be charged or not.

Not you.

Eric Holder is gonna charge him.

right... and you said he should be charged under Espionage Act of 1917 (which doesn't exist). Eric Holder isn't even considering that. USDOJ's action is in agreement with my stance.

As far as I'm concerned.... the "current events" is showing nothing of any kind that mentions anything about criminal charge toward Assange except sex crime allegation.

*searching with microscope*

I have seen NOTHING in this link that supports your statement. Where does it say that they're considering on charging Assange under Espionage Act of 1917 (which doesn't exist anymore) or anything? Is there any mention of criminal charge beside rape?

Just admit it, you can't have a sane discussion with anyone who holds a differing view than yours (because you are always .... right. right?)

It helps to read more than the synopsis than to wallow in your own self importance.

As a Buddhist, do you claim that you can avoid maras by walking the Noble Eightfold Path? (uh .... yeah).
ooooooohhhhh getting personal there, huh? resorting to personal attack and insult, I see.

interesting ....:hmm:

you must have read the condensed version of the Buddhavanaca - or maybe just the synopsis.

Let me ask you this, is everyone else "insane" when they have beliefs that are different from yours?

After all, my comment (or as you would call, insult) was a rebuttal of your insult.

belief? what belief? Is Assange being brought to trial for his religious belief?

weeeee another witch hunt!

deflect as usual ....

How is Assange's religious belief, or anyone's religious belief, connected to someone's sanity? You have made a very bold claim that because some people (namely me) believe in certain things that you do not believe in yourself, they must be insane.

So, as a Buddhist, you claim to believe in the paranormal yourself, do you consider yourself to be a "sane" person too?

this is related to Assange's legal case...... how?

I don't like the denigration and persecution of Julian Assange that is going on lately.

Also I don't like it when I hear about Americans calling for his death. It's not funny at all.

Don't we, the world, have a right to know what some government have been up to and whatever the US govt does affects every countries and its citizen.

I think it'll be beyond stupid if US is to charge Assange with treason.

As it is no governments in the world could find a law to charge Assange for his release of confidential documents. I think what Assange has shown that is the content in George Orwell's 1984 book is becoming a reality now.

I think it is wrong to divulge private information to the public, especially if it was stolen info:

Taliban prepare to punish WikiLeaks Afghan informers - Telegraph

Do you know what the taliban do to Afghani informants?

The "remains" of one was found by our brave armed forces. The taliban had taken a car jack, placed it on his stomach, then jacked up a truck with it.

the "remains" you speak of - were they killed as the result of WikiLeaks?

what do you think?

Ummm ... noooooo..... giving the names, locations of Afghani informants to the enemy in no way caused harm to any informants or their families.

(sarcastic switch turned off).

here is an old article - interview with a taliban torturer:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...he-Talibans-torturers-I-crucified-people.html

Basically any form of pleasure was outlawed," Mr Hassani said, "and if we found people doing any of these things we would beat them with staves soaked in water - like a knife cutting through meat - until the room ran with their blood or their spines snapped. Then we would leave them with no food or water in rooms filled with insects until they died.

It is a personal source, a private contractor with Xe Services LLC,
To be sure I understand you - I'm assuming that he told you that the informants were killed as the result of WikiLeaks, yes?

I just read the whole thing... word by word... I have not seen anything that the informants have been killed or tortured or captured or whatsoever by Talibans as the result of wikileaks.

Please do feel free to point out an excerpt to correct me if I'm wrong.

let's see if Assange/WikiLeaks will release the password.

That is what I am waiting on too.

About the Xe contractor, yes, it was a result of the wikileaks.

The taliban don't go after the informant in some situations. They just go after his family.

Assange should have given some thought before he released those names.

I'm wondering to why we are vilifying Julian Assange for this. Why aren't we scorning our government for letting this mess to happen? How is it that a Private is able to obtain a highly-classified documents including information about our informants?

if Bradley Manning is able to download it... then any high-level spy is able to do this with ease. But hey... this is no surprise to us. USA leaks secrets worse than a Dutch dam where Hansje Brinker plugged the hole with his finger since 90's.

so why are we fixated on Assange instead of our government's mishandling of classified materials? This mess happened because our government allowed contractors and subcontractors (civilians) an access to highly-classified materials.
