I saw this on the news a while back. I forget how many kids per year are killed by cars backing over them. Something like two a week? Anyway, the costs of the cameras installed will vary from a couple hundred bucks to a couple thousand bucks, depending on the picture quality.

Yes, that could happen but it does reduce the odds. I also do it to avoid running over sharp objects.

we already have red flashing light. it's available in GM models but problem is... red flashing light is in front and drivers have to look at the rear when reversing. also it's easily missed....

TCS's Jeep has the beeps and the lights. A deaf driver can see the warning lights flash in the rear view mirror but the beeps help the driver know how close the object is (the beeps get faster as the object gets closer).

The backup object warning lights and beeps. If he's towing a trailer, he can't use the warning system because it would constantly make false warnings. It would sense the trailer as an object in the way.

Oh yeah, It's make sense to me. What kind disable he did? The fuse/relay? I don't remember to see any button for disable the warning system.

There's a button on the dash to turn it off and on. He also has a button on the dash to disable the overdrive of his 5-speed automatic when he's towing a load.

Is there a button on the dash for ejecting? :)
 
I have considered installing additional bright white LEDs for rear so I can see the back better during very dark night. if I ever see a really cool and cheap rearview camera setup... I'd consider it too.

for now... I prefer to keep it simple and use my common sense.
