"Partially unable to hear"
So, if someone can hear something as loud as a jet plane, but nothing with less volume
that would be incorrect. The girl in the sound and fury movie that was implanted is no longer DEAF.
Please don't feed the troll.

Deafness has to do with weather one can hear or not. It has nothing to do with what one does.Speaking, talking, going to no deaf events, NOT signing, going to a hearing school, mostly interacting with hearing only, listening and not lip reading,etc.. all combined is not Deafness.
Wrong again! You can't have every trait of a hearing person, including the ability to listen and hear sound, and be deaf. Its physically and culturally impossible.
Deaf:
1. totally or partially unable to hear
2. The community of deaf people who use American Sign Language as a primary means of communication.

Sometimes it is better to not say anything and let people think you are a fool as opposed to saying something and removing all doubt.Rewriting the medical and cultural definition(s) of deafness so you can still categorize yourself as deaf when you are not is very dishonest.
So, if someone can hear something as loud as a jet plane, but nothing with less volume, they are considered hearing?
sorry the spell checker doesn't correct grammatical errors.I can't hear in cold weather 'cuz my hat covers my ears!(j/k)

Thanks for clarifying. I am asking for your definition, not Webster's. Feel free to share. The definition I gave from the dictionary does include "partial" hearing loss in the definition. That, however, is not what I was arguing. I never once argued partial hearing loss or full hearing loss is not deafness.
