That has never happened. No one has ever said that a Deaf person does not have the right to feel the way they do. (oh, wait, is that telling you that your perspective is wrong, or is it possible to just disagree?????) There was no reason to "call out" anyone.........but, of course, you have me on ignore so you can insult and make claims but never reply to the person you are insulting.
 
Loved this video! The captions were so easy to read, but I think most videos from RIT are like that.
 
Yes! Really, really liked this video. Surprised that it's from 2006, I hadn't seen it before.

A quick question: not seeing a lot of SEE in my day to day (or perhaps not recognizing it as SEE :) ), can you tell me if the woman with short brown hair, white sweater was sim-comming SEE -- or if not, what specifically she was doing? Thanks!

It wasn't SEE, nor ASL. Some of her signs aren't even in any dictionary. She used the sign individual for isolation. She's just using manual coded English. She obviously speaks more than what she signs.
 
Interesting. Sorry, I do not feel that I don't relate any of this experience in the video. I am not sure why. :hmm:
 
I am an asl user. Either teacher signs or Interpreter in the hearing classroom are what I have. But All my life was that I was in deaf school except I took one semester at the hearing university while I was there, i had an interpreter and had a notetaker. :dunno:

You got lucky Frisky Feline. When I was at primary mainstream school, I had nothing, no interpreter, no notetaker, no communication support, no support of any kind even though I am Profoundly Deaf and BSL user but I don't think school knew that and my parents didn't know that either. Went Deaf high school, then hearing college, I only had CSW (Communication Support Worker), she had limited sign skills but she made up for it by helping me with my assigments, coursework, classroom work and making sure I understand. Then when I went uni, finally I had BSL interpreter, I insist on it. Uni agreed with no problems.

I do not know if I am lucky. I am not an oral person therefore, I rely on ASL since I was a Kid. That's the only way I need was to have someone who knows sign. That was it.

Make sense. Mine was bit more complicated than that because my parents wants me to grow up oral, 100% oral so my parents know nothing about signs but the hospital I went for my hearing test, aids, mould etc, lady there taught me signs every time I go. I was suppose to do hearing test, my parents was outside the room but really lady was teaching me sign because they was really worried I had almost no langauge at 3-6 years old. I have no idea what lady job was cos she wasn't audie for sure. Not doctor either. Bit weird way of teaching me language but that what happened to me. Lol.
