My new hero

Souggy, hope you get some satisfaction of pushing home your points without so much as a wee little pause to mention how bad you feel for what this gal underwent. Tsk, tsk, man....same for some others of you....

it's not about the girl. it's about Steinhauer's unknown agenda.

I actually feel more sorry that the girl was used as a poster child. That in itself is worse than the acts she underwent. Did she asked for her moment of terror to be posted online and taken out of context? Surely, she did not permit him to write this story the way he wrote it.

Poster child? how?

Please do explain your paranoid rants ...

Yes. I am sorry about what happened to your niece, Steinhauer. :(

I am sorry to hear about this as well. Yes it was heroic for her to defend herself.....no doubt.

Please remember, Asperger or HOH, does not put a person more of a target than a woman who decide to wear a miniskirt. It is not the girl's fault and her conditions doesn't mean she need more sheltered life. It's not fair for women lose their freedom out of fear because who they are and what they have. What she need is justice what those guys did to her.

Look at the first paragraph. Why did you include it? It distracts from the main point of the story. If it distracts from the story, then the point of the story is lost.

I have explained it 3x. Perhaps you have the "unknown agenda"?

Maybe?

Just a little bit?

I will stop responding to your posts. I should only have to answer that line of questioning once.

The distraction is your nitpicking.

The girl fought bravely against her attackers.

Sorry this happened to ur neice, must have been quite tramautic...she seems to be a "plucky" girl! A fighter.

It happened to me when I was around 9 or 10. I accepted a bicycle ride with a boy I knew, about 12 or 13, to ride to the grocery store. But he swearved off into the bushes, and tried to rape me also. I fought for a very, very long time! And he finally gave up, and I was able to run back home, my clothes all torn and dirty from the ground. I never told my mother! Actually, I was ashamed!

I agree. However, it is my opinion that being HoH or deaf does make a person more of a target for predators in mainstream schools. Just my two cents whatever it is worth.

I am reminded of the deaf school that had faculty members sexually molesting the students because they thought "Who could they tell?"

This situation happened in broad daylight. It happened just 4 houses down from where my neice lives.

I found out from my mother a few minutes ago that some 5th graders witnessed it.

Sure, I have an agenda to weed out unnecessary details. Who doesn't have an agenda? Every story has an agenda. My agenda is questioning: how would the scenario turned out any different than the way it happened? Nothing.

I am sorry for being an ass, but quite a few of my friends are quite offended by the story I forwarded to them to see if they agreed with the way you wrote it. They seem to think the story is implying the reason why they underwent the traumas of break-and-entry, sexual assaults, verbal abuses was because the assiliants knew they had Asperger's or mild autism. Otherwise, I would had not been barking up this tree.

to help your neice cope with this, try not put the blame on her condition. Many family have tried to look for reasons why this happened to their family who were raped... It only make them feel like they are the blame.

Ur neice is a "fighter"!...Very "plucky" girl...I'd be proud of her also, a force to be reckoned with.
But, seriously, she could have been hurt badly, as boys are more physical than girls. Let's hope this never happens again, I'm sure it must have been traumatic for her.

Glad things turned out for the best. She did not deserve to be in that situation. I certainly hope these creeps are charged to the fullest extent. She has been damaged by this event, perhaps for life.

Might want to give some consideration to enrolling her in some type of martial arts/self defense classes. The self esteem benefits, plus the physical development, might really help her overcome this trauma.

A lot of cold-hearted responses in this thread. No girl deserves to be attacked by bullies, regardless of whether she's deaf or Hoh or has aspbergers or anything or nothing.
