International bomb threat on planes

The terrorists have already won, we can't even take a bottle of water on holiday any more.
 
I wish there was a "yawn" smiley because that's exactly what I think. While Fox screams about "x" and "y" not doing their jobs or whatever, they need to think more about the bigger picture. Even if it is ironic like "hey, maybe we're broadcasting this in a light where we're actually calling for more government intervention- and uh...higher taxes?". Short-term focus is always the focus of news organizations...think longer term.

If there were no government, there would be no terrorism. There's always a risk of terrorism in any organized political structure. The fact that the government found these devices is very impressive, as opposed to say what happened last winter when the bomb was actually in mid-air in some guys crotch.

I am keen to side with the nbc analyst who said the intent and purpose of the mailing was a "dry run", as in probing our security measures and see how America/The West responds.

Don't concede to fear, live your lives.
 
this goes along with the stricter guidelines on pat downs for airline passengers. while the bomb itself may not be powerful the fear it causes is the terrorist best weapon. i always think that we have to live more like Israel where threats are a very real, daily existence.

Great movie

...Obama in his statement yesterday looked like he had the body language of "why am I doing this? Stupid PR" I think the criticism from not saying much from last Christmas kind of forced the president to do the statement. Shrug... It was more appropriate it then (at least I think the risk was higher then) as opposed to now. Meh.

It is really strange that AQ would send just 2 packages.....they usually do things in a more grand fashion.

...... because anybody with basic homeland security 101 knows that pilot can be coerced into bringing illegal contraband aboard if pilot is exempted from screening. how? hold his family hostage. hell... even hollywood script writers for action movies know this too well! :lol:
