A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part II

well I am not sure but so far it's going good I had few tests taken yesterday but i got results right away which surprised me lol if the score is really low under 100 then I probably be diabetic but I'm good.. I'm above 120 :P and chosterol came back 188 but eh surprised me.. lol I probably have a bit high pressure cuz i was hell nervous about taking blood tests :P first time ever i Had not to eat for 12 hours to do stupid blood test lol
 
Got a question for anyone who might know this. I think it's mostly English/British or something like that, but I am not positive.

I have gotten some CD's and DVD's for education purposes for my kids. 3 of them do not use the grade level classifications used here in the states. They say, GCSE Spanish, A Level Maths and A Level Chemistry. What grades would this cover? Does anyone have any idea? When I load the CD/DVD, it doesn't tell me anything about grade placement and for the state laws regarding home schooling, I have to be able to show the grade level of curriculum I use.

good luck with home schooling :) it should be fun having your kids staying home not have to go to school but make sure they don't feel isolated afterwards.. :) cuz in my situation I was growing up I was pretty much isolated too much but after I graduated from h.s things seems to get better from there :roll: but make sure they have clubss or friends to have fun.. tho :)

I've been home schooling them for about 7 years now. It is a blast and I love it. The kids are very social and so I don't have to worry about that. Daughter rides her bike all over the neighborhood and meets with a lot of the neighbors and helps them with a variety of things in their yards. If it's someone we know, then she can go inside. Son is involved in a weight loss group and goes to the gym 3 days a week. He does better with people older than him as the same age are not quite intelligent enough for him. The kids are 15 & 16.

I believe A level is either junior high or senior high level, but I am not for sure on the exact grade level placement. I do believe that the GCSE is some type of secondary level exit/placement exam, so maybe it is senior high spanish.

That is all I know, I will ask some of my British friends on FB and find out. I am surprised you are not using an American curriculum but rather a European curriculum. I do believe it is worthy given the Europeans tend to score higher than Americans on the average, but at the same time they are not plagued with the same problems in their schools as the American public schools do.

Everything I am using is American , but when I ordered these CD/DVD's, I remember ordering Jr. high and Sr. high level, but they came as A levels and GCSE.

A levels are the equivalent of an AP/Honors level course that can be taken for college credit. They are graded on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best. They may be required to take the SAT II exam upon completion to receive credit for that course. (googled that one)

GCSEs are the equivalent of a standard high school curriculum. From what I gather, these GCSE's must be completed satisfactorily before continuing on to A-level courses. (wiki'd that one)

ahh that's awesome that's good they keep themselves busy with what to do ;) glad they know what to do tho.. :D
 
Pondering so hard about storyboard and etc for tonite's class.. what pressure eh!!! HEH!! BUT I do a bit good under pressure so it works best.. and yeah I know, it sometimes can backfire like a massive rotten tomato at best but hey gotta be inspired to do something.. hehe

Yes, I guess those individuals accused me of causing drama on my status, so funny, how they doing the same thing. I am just laughing it off :lol:
