Inmate found hanged in his Montgomery County jail cell | Houston & Texas News | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle
An inmate awaiting trial on capital murder charges was found dead early Friday, hanging in his cell from a bed sheet tied to the bars at the Montgomery County Jail.
Earl Handy Jr., 39, who was deaf, was in a segregation cell for medical reasons before his body was discovered around 3 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies administered CPR before Handy was taken to Conroe Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after 4 a.m.
Willis police had charged Handy with capital murder in the January stabbing death of his wife, Donna Handy, 34, and with aggravated assault in the knife attack on Joseph Taylor in January.
Handy and his wife had been separated at the time of the killing. Police described Taylor as Donna Handy's lover.
Handy was accused of stabbing Taylor three times in the upper body with a kitchen knife on Jan. 16 before stabbing his wife at least once in the chest.
An autopsy on Handy will be conducted in Dallas. The sheriff's major crimes unit and the Texas Rangers are investigating the hanging death, officials said.

I think that is probably right and had such feelings of guilt that he killed himself.
