U.S. Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.6%

I think it's hilarious the some people think that a party change for Congress in November will magically make our country solvent. I mean, we will have the Republicans, and people will be waiting for something...Like what? Then after a short honeymoon and our problems just keep on keeping on, they will start getting pissed and feeling cheated. I think it is deliciously hilarious!

Nobody thinks that. We just hope to stop the bleeding (spending). But actually I am hoping for dependocrats to win in November. Best to let this virus run it's course so that we might be immune to it in the future. Perhaps in 2012 we can begin to do rehab and heal from the economic atrophy.

Oh, come on! Everyone knows that Republicans are brilliant strategists!

That's not what I was saying.

I took some of quote from link that I posted.

Look at red bold in this quote and that's good news for Obama.

It is just good start for private sector to growing and unemployment rate is rising by 0.1% to 9.6% is unimpressive because recession is bad so enough.

I don't care about public sector because Census jobs are temp and expected to see big loss in summer and fall.

If you think it isn't good for Obama then that's fine and that's my opinion.

I'm getting out for dinner at fish market so see you tonight.

Might be good....if our economy didn't depend on a monthly creation of 150,000 jobs.

That excuse doesn't work anymore. obama promised the stimulus and health care bills would fix the economy. When the stimulus looked bad at first Biden said it would take 18 months for the stimulus to work. We are past 18 months.

No, it isn't excuse and government assistance never highly expected to work, even it isn't guarantee if it is work and Obama/Biden shouldn't say promise at first place

My point about economic downturn has caused by many things, not just for our government.

Look at Great depression, it took alot of years to recover.

Obama should promote the capitalism and find an idea to dealing with economic downturn instead of solely demand on government assistance.

that's...... a foreign concept for us since we're a military-industrial complex country.... *scratch head*

That's the truth. Therein lies the problem. War is bad for the economy except for a very few who profit from it. And boy, do they ever profit!

What makes you think the Republicans have a magic serum to solve this problem? Aren't they partially responsible for getting us in it? I mean, if this is entirely a Democrat thing, lets blow the entire party up and become a Republican state! We can stop calling it a Democracy, and start calling it a Republicity.

Thinking along party lines is the BIGGEST issue we face in DC. Nobody thinks for themselves; they all gotta check party headquarters to see where the votes are supposed to go. Then we sit in this stagnation, where nobody wins.

Exactly. It is simply going to be same old, same old until someone like Ron Paul sets us straight. Hmmmm.

I didn't say anything about Republicans??? My "we" refers to those who oppose obama and the spend-o-ramas. :)

Alot of independents oppose him now too.....

Got it. So, instead of the Republicans regaining control, you want it to be Independents? If so, I agree with you. If not, it will be more of the same. Nothing gets done. Same old results, with the wealthy still making money, and the rest of us struggling to find and keep jobs.

:hmm: I made it from one of the poorest neighborhoods in Houston to being "Wealthy" while both parties took turns in office. Perhaps those who are struggling should stop looking for excuses and start looking in the mirror.

I actually think this is a good thing. I mean.. Them stucco contractors must be looking for jobs... hmm

No offense, but it is logistically impossible for everyone to get wealthy.

 It's true.. I have gotten alot of discounts this year. My yard guy is 50% cheaper than last years yard guy. The ladies that clean my house are cheaper too. And the golf courses are less crowded because people can't afford to play which has driven green fees down.

Go obama!!!!

I <3 obama!!!!

Perhaps those that are wealthy should stop thinking everyone can do it. Perhaps there are reasons that some people are unable to become wealthy. What about those that are not mentally sharp? Or those that have loved ones to care for? A lot of us don't want to own a company, or earn 7 figure salaries. We just want to work and do our thing. Your blanket statement reeks of arrogance. You made it; good for you. Fore!

While I am at it...
Most people that are out of work are not looking for a hand out. They want to work, to earn their share. They want to feel productive. People that own businesses and feel a sense of entitlement to move jobs offshore to keep them in their "required" high standard of living, at the expense of their fellow Americans, shoud think twice about telling those same Americans to suck it up and deal.

Nothing to do with arrogance. It was a matter of working hard and taking risks. Nothing in life is ever risk-free. But you are given the opportunity to improve. I think it has to do with thinking positive of the things you can do, rather the things you cannot do. Remember the guy with no arms and legs?

What won't help businesses is to tax them heavily. Doing so ensures less jobs to be made available. The same effect would also be felt by pushing this Obamacare affecting many businesses from small to large corporations.
