I for one knew that american like to take lots of risks.

That's the problem, a lot of Americans are living on nothing but credit. People can't afford to live on just credit.

People shouldn't be buying things they can't afford to keep.

Yes that's truth. sometimes I hate taking risks because I do not have any blood in taking many kind of risks .

Yeah I agree. I like it how canadian food inspection take it seriously from my understanding!

Yup, our government cut the funds for USDA inspectors in years ago and more risk to be food-related illness like e. coli is one of them. :eek3:

I agreed and I don't have credit card because I don't want take any risk with credit card if I have no enough money.

Exactly...the problem with america is that you (the states) think ALOT is better...well you have too many banks giving out credit and mortgages to ppl who can't afford it and your foreclosure rate is ridiculous meaning your economoy sucks because you have soooo much national debt and bailouts

Well said. I could see this coming when I got offers for mortgages in my old neighborhood. According to the demographics, hardly any one can afford houses there. When the recession hit, a lot of houses in my old neighborhood ended up getting getting forclosured.

oh - it's cuz we're your #1 oil buyer :cool2:

Drill Baby Drill

Does Canada has better regulation on oil drilling than in US? I'm just wonders.

I don't know and I don't care

j/k - looking at the history where handful of oil disasters are by Americans... and yet we're Canadian's #1 buyer where it doesn't have bad oil disaster history like us - I'd say yea it knows how to do it better than us. But then - the oil where they got it from and the oil where we get it from is different.

There is a difference between taking risks and living on credit.

Living on credit and taking risks are not the same but in some way its the same thing in kind of $$ that amercian think they can earns faster.

That's okay, we have deaf plan for wireless carrier and videophone. Canada don't. That's why they're very cheapskate like Jew.

Wow, a very anti-Semite and anti-Canadian post!

Canada is a great country. Who could fail to love the place where Mrs. Bucket lives?

 MWAHS! You simply have to come up to Canada and enjoy all the fantastic multi-cultural dishes I enjoy on a regular basis. There are so many different international shops on one street and that is just in Toronto. Imagine the vast diversity I am able to enjoy and maintain my cultural independence; please do come on over, neighbour!

Maple syrup you'll be bringing home by the bucket! ;)

gosh i didnt expect to see amercian are jealous of canada. I for one knew that american like to take lots of risks. eh. I am happy for canada because i hope it stays the way canada is. so it wont affect others eventually you know?

You are correct, the only reason Canadian banks are doing better than the rest of the world is because they were much more conservative in their investments and risked alot less. So when the world economy collapsed-those who risked the most like Europe and the US lost the most.

US banks are far more regulated than our Canadian friends even before the collapse. most of the regulations resulted from 911, another reason why we need less federal regulations-it doesn't work. the less government-the better. here in the US (not saying Canada is any better), we need more ethics and less scrupulous people running our companies.

How do I know this-I work for the third largest bank in Canada who took over my bank which was the 5th largest bank in New England so I know both sides of the story.

Today is Canadas day so my fellow Americans, we should congratulate them because it is their time in the sun. As soon as the Democtates and Obama are gone Canadas success will become a faded memory.

Not so fast, a faded memory you may say so, it will be a lesson learned not to be so quick to spend your money. Learn from your neighbour to cut corners, save money and appreciate what you have.

Your friendly Canadian neighbour

Nice, but one thing I'd like to point out is that Canada has very little to offer, if anything, the US doesn't have, except maybe ice road truckers and unlike some areas in the US, alot less crowded :) Here in Maine we would have nice clean crisp air but, unfortunately we get all the air polution from Toronto and Quebec 90% of the time and the rest of the time we get pollution from Boston and New York. Please clean up your factories so I can breathe better-thank you.

Well, the economic has went bad before Obama becomes president, the early warning of economic downturn was started in 2006 like my friend that work for company in Miami and went into fell of production occurred in 2006 and went out of business in 2007. You can blame on GOP too for mess so they are bad as democrats, not all people in democrats are same.

Having a GOP in congress or white house are no solution either, look at GWB Admin and GOP in past, even is democrats as well.

U.S. and China should do the same (and many other countries)

Do you have any concrete evidence to provide this erratic percentage you just provided?

This is laughable at best and of course a comment expected from an American. Deflecting your own country's problems ie the oil spill and the major banks buyout, etc when we have been very consistent in our country.

Too bad that I did not marry a canadian guy! I ended up married a upstate ny guy instead of. Our current location was only 3 and half hours away from canada. That was pretty close!
