I am sure that most of you are aware that the cesarean rates has been increasing steadily more than before. For some reason, its so popular for some women who will choose to have a cesarean when it is not medically necessary.

For me, I do not care because its their choice, not mine. I found it interesting some women who had vaginal births gave some attitudes toward to whose women made opt to have a cesarean when it was not medically necessary.

So, what's your opinion on the medically unnecessary of having a cesarean?

Really? Women give attitudes for not having a vaginal birth? What's wrong with people these days.. Sounds like guys making fun of other guy for crying.

Less pain, more control for doctor and staff. What's wrong with that?

I wish I knew why some women feels annoyed about seeing some women choose to have a cesarean that is convienent for them.

I know some doctors would like it due to the time scheduled planning for the rest of day at the hospital. Some doctors don't like it due to allow it happen by natural itself.

My 2 were natural...and I can see a C-section if there are complications with the birth. I've heard it's dangerous to have more than 2 C-sections??....

Up to the mother.. but I couldn't do it unless it is an emergency. Because I like to protect my reproductive organs from scissors and knives. I heard that once you have a C-sections, always a c-sections because the risk of virginal birth it could cause.

Those who criticize that it is wrong to choose c-sections should really shut their mouth. Many premature babies, babies, and mothers were saved this way.

I've noticed that too....I think dr wants more $$$ which that is greedy

Some had C-section and will have repeated C-section only up to 3 times but 4th can be risky.

Dr did wanted me have C-section with 2nd, and I told him BIG NO. I can have vaginal birth like I did with my 1st. Even though both were big babies. So I did it, and I am proud what I did. :) I got 2 beautiful boys!

Some women must have C-section due to breech, twins (depend on the babies positions, and health etc, some can do vaginal), have triplets or more babies, some have high blood pressure, pre espamica (sp), been pushing too long and baby won't come down, etc.....

Only if they are medically necessary, which is true.
But speaking of what my thread is that lots of healthy pregnant mama make opt to have a c section when they are not medically necessary.

It saves lives when necessary. But if voluntary, here is some good information on why you should not elect it.

While the increased risks of cesarean section to neonatal and maternal health have long been known, an even more grim issue came to light in a study released in the September, 2006 issue of Birth Journal. The CDC
conducted research on cesarean section and neonatal mortality, expecting to find that the neonatal mortality rate (defined as death within the first 28 days of life) following cesarean section correlated directly with medical complications of the mother and baby. What they found, instead, was that regardless of risk factors, babies born by cesarean section face a risk of death nearly three times that of vaginally born babies.

c-sections that are NOT medically necessary should be banned, women should give birth naturally, apparently you bond better with the baby that way? My mum had to have 2 c-sections, brother was breech and with us three, emergency c-section as we was coming 12 weeks early, plus she couldn't really deliver triplets(I don't know if it is possible)

Assuming baby comes out healthy both scenarios.
What is wrong with having a c-section?

Maybe I fail to understand here because I'm not female.

But it sounds similar to CI surgery vs no surgery?

Same for me. It's not my concern if they want to have a c section. it's their choice.

Yeah :hmm: let's see what people have to say about this? I'd like to know for future cases so I understand better.

To the people who dislike c-section.
Why is it bad if both cases are healthy for the baby?

Or is it only because there's the risks pre-birth involved that you're against it?

Maybe it's something about the attitude, like you mentioned about the ci issue. eh. People asked me the same questions over and over which did I have, and why then tell me that was a medicially necessary. I realize that why did they get concern about it, and it is none of their business. I start to respect others who opt to have c section if they are not at high risk. It's the same thing as a CI. It's the major surgery. yes.

If C-Section was banned, I wouldn't be here.

were it a medically necessary? if yes then it's ok. How do you feel if the pregnant moms decide to opt to have a csection because they want it the way it is without a hassle involved with the emotions or in pain.

I have a thing that hang between my legs.

I should not have a voice in this matter since it's not my body we're talking about. I will leave this issue up to the women. :cool2:

Ha ha, ok. what if your future wife turns to you, said, "hey i am thinking of having a csection because i won't have to be dealing with emotional pain during labor and delievery or tight schedule or don't want to damage my bottom private part or i want baby's head won't be coneheads and go on. so even though you just said in your post. right. :aw:

I am thinking ahead of time, this thread will help influence my decisions and opinion. :cool2:

So anti c-section people, here's your chance to convince me.
