I never say that I was deny about communication issue for anyone whoever is deaf and unable to use sign languages.

I said it isn't big deal.

Not everyone get many choice.

For those who do not know sign language and seeing that their communication needs are being denied while others get sign language interpreters does become a big deal. We're talking about one day out of the the year that this event is held and Six Flags is unable to provide an open caption access for those who don't know or rely on sign language interpreters. One measely day so they can, too, enjoy what everybody is enjoying. How about removing sign language interpreters instead and just have everybody (deaf/hh) attend. No big deal, right?

OK I'm going to bed. Waited all this time for the blog link but still haven't gotten it and can't stay awake anymore. Night!

Hopefully it'll be here when I wake up.

well then it's a possibility that you're making a mountain out of molehill.

No. It's called raising awareness. Just like raising awareness for captioning on the internet. This one is no different.

Can you describe the photos? :ty:

First image is an emoticon grimacing, second is a butt-hurt extension form that allows the user to fill it out and choose from varying options of butt-hurted symptoms.

Long story short from the extensive use of verbiage, it is to basically have the individual who fills out the forum, assist in the reader understanding the progression and direction of the forum thread.
Usually it doesn't get filled out though, think it has a filing rate of 0.1%.

It is Six Flags's decision because they are private business, even it isn't require by ADA law to provide an interpreters or communication devices to shows.

Life isn't fair, even there was ASL interpreter at show in the zoo but no alternative for people whoever is deaf and don't know how to use sign language.

here is a transcript of the picture above

Right. It is a private business. This isn't about ADA in the first place but about recognizing the potential in drumming up more business. It isn't really an awareness day if it's only about deaf/hh who know sign language. Awareness about deaf and hard of hearing people includes deaf/hh people who use and depend on other means of communicating and how they get their information from. In otherwords, don't be selfish and ignorant at the same time. If non-signers were to be truly felt welcomed at Six Flags and they took the effort to provide open captioning, then what better place for them to see a lot of signers in one place and get them interested in sign language. It's all about a win-win scenario. What Six Flags is doing is a Win-Lose scenario because they haven't captured the non-signers into their park.

The problem is... how can it be hypocrisy when the organizers are ignorant?

mincing. screeching. conundrum. hyperbole. rhetoric. take your pick.

Well, I have say toobad, life isn't fair.

If you attend the shows and don't understand about sign language then ask staff to provide a paper and pen to write for you, that's simple.
