Motorcycle insurance rates?

What do you consider to be acceptable motorcycle insurance rates?

We were quoted $269. Does that sound right to you?

:P Koko! Ummm, I think we would need to know more information and then also realize rates vary from state to state, too. Reba, try and get a quote (if yours didn't come from them) from Foremost Insurance Co out of, I think, Wisconsin. They are a popular motorcycle insurance company. Then, just to be sure, ask your current car insurance company for a quote. I have Foremost. I'll try and get the price I have on my trike which was largely based on how much money I have in it and the matching color trailer. It is very cheap; I think 200 dollars or less.

since mine is $228... yep your quote is good assuming it's a comprehensive coverage. whatca ya riding?

The quote was for full coverage. Riding nothing yet. :( Hubby's just shopping around.

He does like HD but I'm sure that will be way out of his price range.

No crotch rockets.

I wish we could get a trike like Tousi but that's just a dream.

Hubby wants to get something so we can participate in Rolling Thunder rides.
 
Hubby has his eye on a Hyosung GV 650.
 
We paid $315 a year thru foremost insurance. Not bad price for you. ;)

oh that was a beaut.... shame that it's gone :( and its rival HD won. the closest you can get to Indian is.... Triumph... somewhat... I've got an itch for a nice spin in PA on its Bonneville!

For trike version... my eyes are on Can-Am Spyder. I sat on it, touched it, fiddled with it, smelled it, tasted it.... I like it!

and also ask your local motorcycle community. That's how I found out about Riders Insurance. If your hubby wants to join a club which shares his enthusiasm and value... there is usually a group discount. sometimes not.
 
Dang, you guys got guts. I don't have a single friend who never cracked up on a motorcycle, and a dear friend even died a couple months ago while recuperating from a crackup. I used to ride a Honda 750 until I visited the fracture ward in hospitals. :eek3:

Jiro, my very first bike was a brand new 1970 Triumph Bonneville! Today's Triumphs look ghastly to me, lol. Back in the day, the Triumphs and another English bike I can't remmy the name...were notorious for their leaky gaskets. Never happened to mine, tho.....great bike of the day...back in the days when Hondas were uglier than sin and sounded like they were running on rubber bands vs the full throaty sound of my double carbed Bonny! :lol:
 
At age 16, Hubby had a Suzuki X-6 Hustler 250 cc. He had it for only a year or two because it kept breaking parts (it was a very used bike).

At age 22, Hubby bought a brand new Honda 750-4. He had it only a few months before it was stolen from the Florida Navy base where he was stationed. (It was chained to a light pole, and they cut the chain.) About one year later, the FBI notified him that they found it in Alabama, wrecked. He didn't want it back because he had already been paid by insurance.

About 1982, Hubby bought a used Honda 750-4. He rode that for a couple years, mostly commuting to work. He sold it later.

No accidents on the bikes.

I saw a few of them in action at Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach about two years ago.

I mean a real trike, like Tousi has. :)
