No Saturday Mail?

If a mail THAT important to be deliever, bill them for commerical Saturday mail.... Like Fedex

Or they can wait til monday.

lol let's see....

old farts, tech-illiterate people, people with no CC, poor people, and paranoid people

lol....I was kidding but.....But I still don't see a problem with waiting one day.....There is always the drop box if it must go out that day. And the costs it would cut would be staggering

you know - I read this article again and it confirmed my suspicion. as typical like most government agencies - USPS mismanaged its funds. You do not see this kind of thing in private businesses like Fedex.

USPS employs about 600,000 workers, about half of whom will be eligible to retire in the next 10 years. Potter said the agency has historically overpaid into its pension fund, and would reap significant savings if it stopped prefunding its retiree health benefits.

I have a feeling that a portion of its current workers are "useless" and lazy. oh well.

What? The Government mismanaged funds? Impossible!
You obviously misread or misunderstood. Our Government has way too many people to allow a mistake to happen.

Post reported to the Chair of the House website oversight commitee AND Acorn

Take that Commie

the saddest part is.... the McDonalds workers work a lot harder than USPS during peak hours... and MCD workers do not even have any pension funds or any of those perks that USPS gets

People still pay bills by mail??

I do because I refuse to pay for anything online. I have had numerous problems and so I write a check for most all payments and have a copy for myself.

I say there should be no delivery on a Saturday. Businesses are able to wait until Monday and people should be as well. Mail delivery is crappy at best, but it is still the way a lot of people communicate.

It sounds like a lot of people aren't happy with their national postal service.

I do auto pay and have receipt emailed.......Have the bank pay the bills that don't accept autopay . Saves money paper and time. Plus you never forget one.

they realize they waste cents on stamp plus waste paper.

by paying online... they waste hundreds if not thousands of dollars on electricity, broadband service, and computer

It's not efficent and it is reallynot as necessary as it used to be. My plan of alternating days would save billions.

I am with mine. I use USPS all the time. I ship USPS. cheap and fast.

I'm satisfied with Canada Post. Although I do pay my bills online these days. I do use Canada Post when I need to.

340,000 current postal carriers. Alternate days would eliminate at least 140,000

Avg Postal carrier salary $40,000

That saves $5.6 billion by itself. Not to mention cutting vehicles, wear and tear, gas and carbon emissions by having the route miles cut in half. It also doesn't take into account the savings in benefits. And the only negative....You potentially get you magazine a day later than someone accross town
