How many days did you turn your CI or HA off and be silent?

and

Why did you turn your HA and CI off for a day or more?

right now - I'm not wearing HA. Sometimes I forget to put it on when I leave for work

I usually wear it everyday but not all day

LOL, I normally don't put my CI on weekends unless we're going out cos it's nice to have quiet :)

But the most time I have not had my CI on is about a week or so

whoa. you guys posted it fast. me too. As of right now, i am not wearing my HA. I think i have a tiny headache a little so i stay away from HA for a while until my headace goes away then i will put it on. Or If i get restless real real bad then put HA on to calm me DOWN like it is my drug! lol

Went all of last week without my HAs. Enjoyed the quiet and solitude.

Hi DeafDoc! You.. stay here! Haven't seen you in a while!

I don't own a HA however I own a lifetime of solitude and I just love it. Peace and quiet.

Finally found my hearing aids this morning, dusted it off and put it in my purse :P I have a job interview later today.

Other than that, I enjoy the quiet. My hearing is about 20-30% when I wear the HAs and I am prone to headaches :P I'll stick to my 50-60% hearing loss ;)

WHen broken down, and younger. I saved rapidly. I had no credit cards then.

i stopped wearing my CI regularly when i was 17. i'm 22 now.

How come you don't wear your CI regularly? Just curious :giggle:
I have not worn mine much since July. But I do not wear it every day. I get shouted at to put my implant on if I am not wearing it by my family :giggle:

Lately this year I've been turning off my CI more often than ever.... it has become a routine that I would turn off my CI like at at 6pm or so at night... to have complete slient.... and I like it... and when I get up... I wouldn't put it on like until an hour or two later.... which was not normal like a year ago and years before that. I guess I'm starting to like my Slient better than having any sounds.

I'm the same, my CI is usually switched off by 5/6pm. I put it on maybe 12/1pm. Even earlier if going out. But I do wear my hearing aid all waking hours

Lately I have not been wearing my hearing aids when I get home because my ears have become swollen and irritated. We have made an appointment to find out what I can do to solve this.

When I go camping, I will usually leave my hearing aids out for a full day when I go swimming to allow my ears to dry out. If I put my hearing aids in after swimming, no matter how much I try to dry them out, I will get swimmer's ear.

I also leave them out when I get up in the morning so I can have silence. It also works well because then I don't have to put them on, go down to the washroom, take them off, and have a shower. I just leave them out.

When I had my hearing aids I never left them off unless I had swimmer's ear from the shower. Now that I don't have any, I have blessed silence 24/7.

When I was in school at age 7-10, I had to take them out for Phys Ed, but that was all. The Janitor threw my last pair away when I was 10 because he thought they were parts to a transistor radio. Didn't get new ones until I was in my late 30's due to money and insurance not covering the cost.

im using HA when i was little girl till stop due my mom cant afford that price reason but i dont using CI in my adulthood.

I have major Tinnitus 24/7 so there is never silence. I take the HA out at night. Sometimes I leave it out for a day to give my ear a rest. Seems I hear a little better the next day when I do

Well - I also have the major timmitus, but since I've had it so long it's like "white noise" to me. If I listen carefully, I hear constant "roaring" and all kinds of screeches and whistling. I've just gotten used to ignoring them, but they are ever present. When I mentioned blessed silence, I don't hear the daily noises of daily life. That can be a blessing since I live on the flight pasth to a major international airport and planes go over from 6am to 12 midnight. The rest of the family hears the planes, but I don't. I don't hear the kids and that can be upsetting, but I also don't hear them bickering and fighting.

only briefly, aside from sleeping or swowering, my CI comes off the moment a motor mouth just won't shut up!
