UbiDuo

I hate that device...it is so annoying. I am with Posts from Hell on laptops. :lol:
 
Instead of average big laptops, they can use the small laptops to communicate between two or more people like in the cafe or sit down together to communicate face to face. It is like between a deaf person and hearing person to communicate. I would like to own UbiDuos like this and it would be great to use that to communicate with them. $2,000 is a lot for two UbiDuos. :hmm:

Oddball, will you explain why it is so annoying on this UbiDuo Q. I do not have one like that, but someday I would like to have it. :hmm:

Ok, when I started to work at VR office in NJ three years ago, I ve asked for interpreter. My nitwit manager asked me if I am interested in that device, I said no thanks. She ordered it anyway. I did try it myself, but disliked it so much. I'd prefer to use interpreter instead. I fought for my rights for four months until my manager/ her boss finally gave in. :roll:

I think your manager means well but not when there were meetings or trying to understand what hearing people say in a work environment. Yes, you have a right to have an interpreter at work, but not for social setting. The UbiDuo (two small laptops) is for social communications between two people or if there were three or four people sitting face to face just to chat. It is mostly for one for the deaf person and one for the hearing person (not know how to sign ASL) to communicate. I have seen a deaf person and hearing person communicate in the cafe place and they enjoy making conversations without the hassle. :cool2:

Also I am thinking about TDD and communicate with Deaf people only and also use relay to make conversations with hearing people. The problem is that it is not wireless. If the UbiDuo has a wireless to communicate in a public place like cafe. That would be great to communicate with hearing person or persons. :hmm:

That would be nice for University DRC to provide these for classes where there are assignments made to groups or two persons. Other than that I agree 2,000 dollars is a steep price

No, I made it clear to her that I do not want the devices for myself. She never understand Deaf culture and needs. I'd rather to use interpreter and VP. Finally, I got what I want. Interpreter is my ears where I get information inside the office. I use AOL AIM to communicate with my coworkers and support staff. It was easier and more sufficient enough for me. :roll:

Now, my manager is no longer hiring interpreter for any Deaf consumers. She also kept saying No to alot of Deaf consumers, even CEO of a supported employment agency for whatever reasons. What the hell is she thinking? What a shame. :roll:

I am glad that I left the office where gossipmossers and backstabbers work. I don't need their shitty dramas. I am happy here in NY office where people are friendly and cool. Thank god for that. :giggle:

I already have those silly. But I have terrible handwriting. My fine motor skills suck!!
 
I'll stick with writing notes on my qwerty keypad smartphone.
 
MCC had a few but everyone thought they sucked , thier are a lot of easyer and cheer ways to do the same thing .
 
$2,000 for a pair of these devices is ridiculous. You would be better off buying Netbooks with wireless technology built in.
