PS3 videochat or Video interaction games?

I have 120GB PS3 Slim w/ BlueRay that I bought for my sons as Christmas gift.. and I fiddle around settings and read info on website. I found out that there are videochat but require PS3 webcam. But I read through Google that few Webcam (3rd party) would work with PS3 too. I decided to test out with my new Logitech Vision Pro for MAC. It's Driverless webcam. I plugged in Logitech Vision Pro to PS3 USB port and navigate Settings--Application settings-- Camera Setting. It works!! Video from Logitech ran smoothly with no hitch.

Question is that how do you use Videochat with another PS3 user online?

Start newchat > start video chat > invite friend.

It is allowed up to 6 people per chat, really useful!

There's a lot of things in ps3 for you to learn, such as PS3 Life, PS3 Home, PS3 Facebook, PS3 File Transfer from PC, etc. :D

Amazing about videochat. But I don't have PS3 because I'm too old. :lol:

:rofl2: That's how old people look at new technology. They think it's too hard to use. :rofl: I bet the next Grey generation would be as expert as young people. In 25 to 50 years from now, You probably see lot of computers on their wheelchairs at "rasin" homes. :eek2: Perhap home for eldery hackers.

Thanks! I will look into that. Perhap I might want to get with deafie or those who are currently on Alldeaf.com w/ PS3

Ok thanks! I tried to sign in but it asked me to update firmware to 3.15. So I decide to take risk to update firmware. After that it works just fine and the background color changed a bit. But I am able to get Playstation At Home and other features including Playstation Chat!. My son tried to sign up but he couldn't get it sign up. I will have to figure out myself.

I just logged in Alldeaf.com through PS3 browser :lol: All I have to do is to use "Search" and choose Alldeaf.com on the list after search. I just figured out how to get in Videochat. I am currently waiting for other AD member to accept me. That's somthing new . I was in Plastation "At Home" and walking around in Harbor Plaza.. I thought it was neat!!! I couldn't figure out how to get out until I hit "PS" button and finally got out. :cool: Catty

I use Logitech Duo USB keyboard/ mouse and it works just fine for texting and most functions along with PS3 console.. I was in Sodium place and I couldn't get back to Harbor Mall!?? I asked around few guys and none would help me. Oh well. I just quit and shut down the PS3 for the night because it was nearly 2 AM.

Last night, Authentic and I just got connected with Videochat on PS3. The video was amazing that it runs smooth like Videophone! We had a good chat. He said that my video on other end was a bit fuzzy or digitalized a bit due to cable broadband traffic. No biggie tho.

PS3 also works well with Logitech USB Duo keyboard including optical mouse. I signed up my son to get in Playstation @ Home online "social" and games. It's like Sims but get involve play game and earn points like bowling, sand shooter, and several games in @ Home virtual social games. Also can chat with other players too.

Can be compatible it to MSN, AIM or Skype?
