Space Tourism a Reality by 2012

it's not really in the space. just barely high enough (see pix below) but I doubt it will go that high due to liability and safety reason. it will tilt its side to space where the view will be spectacular and while you will experience zero gravity for short seconds - it makes you think you're in space.

That is a great display where they will go up for a short time.

We will never be able to afford space travel tickets in our lifetime. Only rich people will be able to afford it...never middle class or low income class. I bet it will cost $10,000 per person in several decades later. It's not worth the money just for a few seconds...goodbye $$.

best place to be in if world's crumbling down
Ditto.

I can imagine the first launch happening and as soon as they get to the top, they look out the window and see Earth crumble away. By then, there will be no more gravity and the ship will break free! ;)

no gravity? :hmm: that would mean the Earth itself has collapsed and there will be a supernova! Kablooey! you will go bye bye in that spaceship.

yep...... poop...... let's just hope we win some $$$$$$ at casino or lottery

Not worth the $200k cost or the risks. What happens if the spacecraft blows up upon reentry? I don't think space tourism will be popular due to the risks of injury or death. I can have fun with far less risk on roller coasters and will wait for virtual reality to simulate space travel for like $20 and virtually no risk.

Space is always dangerous. Since the first man went up into space, there have been a few accidents only.

You are correct. Space is a violent place. Very violent. There is so much space junk orbiting our planet even the astronauts working outside the shuttle or on the space station have to be careful. Some of that junk is flying around at 10's of thousands of miles per hour.
