Is President Obama too "cool?"

The US has been meddling down there forever. I read The Shock Doctrine and I was appalled. The US government unleashed the Chicago School economists down there before these economists destroyed our financial system here.

I'm glad you are able to find humor in such devastation.

It's the photos of the dead, floating bodies that can't get out of my mind. I never thought that I'd see that here. :(

Still not anything that Bush had control of and to make light of the situation is "assinine" (big word of the day...compliments of jillio)

You really are a piece of work. Got a problem with my vocab, take it to PM.

And Bush certainly had control of what happened afterwards.

Agreed, sallylou. It was like pics from a 3rd world country.

Kiss me, you fool!

FEMA Chief "Heck of a Job" Brownie and ultimately Bush were responsible for federal response to the disaster. The problem was that Bush appointed a totally unqualified person for this job. Before his appointment, Brownie was Commissioner for the International Arabian Horse Association. If I need equine advice, I'd call him.

And yet, "We're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it, and who smokes, with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke."
How about we all stop comparing apples and oranges now?

And you call this appropriate debate? tsk tsk tsk

I want to start a fan club. Too bad people keep misinterpreting his posts... but again most comedians who employ dry humour are often misunderstood.

Yep. He is a master of sarcasm and dry wit!:giggle:

You wouldn't know an appropriate debate if it jumped up and bit you in your assumption. I refer you back to your numerous posts.

I certainly wouldn't recognize one here, it would just seem so out of place and out of character
