Exactly. My son's pediatrician knew very little about deafness. The difference between him and the average physician is that he was willing to admit his ignorance and was more than willing to learn...especially the cultural aspects.

Great point Babyblue, ignorance plays a huge role in situations like this!

Nailed that one on the head! Parents AND Doctors need to be educated on this! I wish parents were to be exposed to advocates for both sides. Then parents could make an fully educated decision.

I applaud the doctor's that have educated themselves!! :yesway:
