I want to buy a baby book for a friend who is expecting her girl in late January. The trouble is that I want to buy a baby book that goes from birth to teens like my own baby book. The baby books I looked at online are only the first year or the first 5 years. Any suggestion on where I can find the one that goes beyond 5 years? Thank you!

From choosing your baby's doctor to dealing with steep problems, from helping a child develop selfesteem to discerning when certain behaviors call for professional help -- and how to find it -- this book offers comprehensive and accessible information for parents on the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development of children from infancy through the preadolescent years. Expertly and definitively offering practical advice and invaluable information, Your Child will guide you through every stage of your child's growth and help you meet the daily challenges of parenting.

No. No. I mean something that is a lot like scrapebooking. Dates of first something like walking or first word. List of birthday gifts on the first birthday and a place for a picture, etc. I am thinking about talking to a Creative Memories salesperson to see if she have something like that. I just hope it is not too expensive.

Thanks Botti anyway.

What's wrong with making your own?

You can find a lot of different kinds of scrapbooks at crafts stores like MJ Designs, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc.

Remember, kids change as they grow up. One year, he might be crazy for Power Rangers. The next year, he might be crazy for Toy Story.

So, if you had the first few pages for the kid as a newborn... it can be your own design for each page. When that kid has reached an age where he starts liking Thomas the Train. You can buy Thomas the Train stickers and decorate those pages with notes and pictures. The next year, he might like Monster Trucks. Do those few pages with those instead.

My nephews change every year. When he was 2, he loved Thomas the Train. When he was 3, he loved Cars and Monster Trucks. When he was 4, he loved Prince Caspian... then Star Wars.

20 years later, you can look back and see how he changes as he grows. :)

My son's "baby book" only went to his 3rd birthday. (That's the official one with "All about Baby" written on the cover, and has a place for the birth family's information and all. After that, I just purchased scrapbooking supplies and created my own. You seem to be a creative gal. Have you thought about buying a nice leather covered scrapbook, and then adding decorated pages for photos and information that you make? I bet she would think it was even more special than the pre-done ones you can buy because you took the time and made the effort to make it special just for her.

Nope....I think only mass is up to 5 years old. :(

Why not make your own? It sound like a lot of work but worth to try? :dunno: I think making your own, she will cherish even more because it made by YOU. You have about 3 months left to make.

I just got 2 of baby books from my baby shower. Really cute...but may give one of them to my niece who is expecting. I don't need two! LOL!

Good luck what you can decide. And also try Ebay and Google see if you can find up from birth to 18.

I agree. The most precious gifts, IMO, are the ones that someone has made just especially for me.

Off topic...How are you feeling these days with your pregnancy, LakeTahoe? It's getting pretty close to time, isn't it?

Yea but it would be a lot of work to put them together and time too. It would be cost some fortune too. It is totally up to her. I would do that but I lost interested in scrapbook now. :( I am gonna clean out my stuff and sell them.

I'm glad to know that you are feeling well except for the cold. Eat a big candy bar, and then go get your sonogram. Then maybe you'll be able to tell us if you are having a son or a daughter.

My daughter does that ! She made photo books for presents , she print things off her computer and buy some fabric and paste it on the cover!
The books come out very nice , and it a lot cheaper than buying photo books with a fabric cover! And it mean more to person getting the book as they know my daugther put love into making it!

I have a friend whose parents bought one of those 18-year picture frame.

It's a big picture frame with a big circle in the middle and 18 little circles around it.

Each picture has a label under it starting with "Newborn" or something, then "1 year old", "2 years old", etc. Every year, the child's picture is taken and added to the picture frame. The big circle is usually the high school graduation picture.
