The above quote is preserved for the mods.
Rape is a serious thing, it goes along with the fact that when men do this it's about a show of power and control over a woman....or a teen girl. And what's most shocking is to see time and time again in certain segment of society that gives this rape thing a clear pass as "not a big deal." Rape ruins lives. I know, I had to console a few of my friends who experienced those things in college. I don't take rape lightly.
Please don't even attempt to tell me about rape. I work as a member of a SART crisis team that deals with rape victims on a daily basis. I am also very well aware of the effects of rape on a victim. Consoling a few friends during your college days hardly equates to dealing with rape victims on a professional basis day in and day out. The next time that you are called to the ER at 4:00am to deal with a woman who has just been raped, or sit through a forensic physical exam being conducted on a 6 year old child that was raped by her stepfather, we can discuss the issue of rape from an equal perspective. Until that time, there is absolutely nothing you can tell me about the topic.
And the topic has virtually nothing to do with rape. The topic is the fact that a 25 year old internet "editor" did not have sufficient knowledge of history to be aware of Chappaquidick.
