Fascist cop goes after and singles out a protester for having a protest sign of Obama depicted as a Joker and after a minute of arguing with the cop threatening the arrest of the protest (because of the sign) saying that this ain't America no more.

Story, video and transcript of what was said in the video.
Town-hall clash! Arrest threat over Obama 'Joker' poster

personally I don't care for the poster. It's like drawing a mustache to a teacher you don't like. Never cared for Vanity Fair either because they made Bush like a joker as well. It's immature and stupid.

So was the cop in his attempt to abuse his authority. No?

The First Amendment gives Americans the right to assemble and protest as long as it's reasonable and doesn't interfere with the public use. The link I clicked is not working.

Funny that now all the sudden, you're calling police "fascist" - what happened to the respect you had for police?

 I think there's more to this story than what the source is saying; it's likely the protester was being disruptive. By itself, carrying a sign with Obama as the Joker isn't enough to warrant this. Second, this guy wasn't a cop but a security officer trying to keep things under control.

As for the use of the word "fascist", it used to have a very specific meaning but now anyone of any ideology will lobby that word at anyone they disagree with. It's become meaningless as a result. I think George Orwell complained about this as early as the 1950s.

Since I'm a liberal, I must be among the most fascist of them all. Yeah, right.

Didnt you defend the police in the case with the black professor? Now, the cops are facists? Ok.

I didn't know people discriminate each others based on faces!

Anyway, fascism-- interesting topic. However too bad the word has been lost to popular culture and has took on a very absurd definition since it was first used in 1920s.

Er, did you read what that rent-a-cop said in my link?

"This ain't America no more.."
"I can charge you with whatever I wanna charge you with..."

Just because this rent-a-cop didn't like one poster he has that right to abuse his authority over a protester? I understand about trespassing issue but this guy, the rent-a-cop guy, went too far to try and suppress free speech. That alone is a fascist scenario? That depends a lot of things, I suppose but an altogether a different thread.

Rent-a-cop made up his own protocols.

Crowley, in the Gates incident, followed proper protocol and procedures. Two very stark, stark differences. Color has nothing to do with this. And it's quite disturbing to hear from a rent-a-cop who abused his authority and remarked with glee that "this ain't America no more." Wonder why he would say such a thing?

The protester was well within his right to protest. The rent-a-cop overstepped his authority by targeting only one protester because he didn't like is sign.

Well, this is still America. Americans will make sure of that.

As have "socialist" and "Marxist" and "Communist" Truly a shame when a language becomes so distorted simply because vocabulary is used in an attempt to hurl an insult without a full understanding of the vacabulary one is using. The rule of the day is "Find a word that you think will inspire fear in a few people, and the overuse it until it has become so weak and diluted as to become meaningless."

"Ain't"? Oh, yeah, that provides him with all kinds of credibility and gives the perception of an intelligent individual.

No, it isn't a facist scenario. It is a scenario of a low paid security guard running his mouth and giving all a pretty good idea of why he is working as a security guard instead of a police officer. Just one more example of why our education system needs an overhaul.

Given the fact that all charges were dropped against Crowley, and his superior stated that he would have handled the situation quite differently, I'd say whether Crowley followed accpeted protocol and procedure is in question.
