Mrs Obama wear shorts during vacation with her children

Both Obama and Michelle continue to raised my eyebrows such as Michelle walking out with short shorts, Queen Elizabeth hug, etc. but it is interesting to see how they put a certain "family" flavor into White House.

I'd be more inclined to agree that it does turn some heads around for many people but, I don't really think it is hurting anyone by putting a "family" flavor. Perhaps, they are trying to change the image that they want people to know that they are just like us all, being relaxed but yet also, being determined and responsible. :dunno:
 
it is amusing to me to see these comments like "who gives a damn?" because we are "commoner".... as in....we are not public figures nor do anything related to public appearances with constant press coverage. So we don't know what's it like to live that kind of lifestyle and we don't know what's it like to have a pressure to keep up your "posé" to look goody goody and proper in front of public and peers. Even when these people are on vacation - they still have to maintain their posé otherwise they will risk losing their livelihood and influence.

exactly why Strzemien said - "I was interested as a newsperson because it was a first. A lot of things the Obamas have done have been firsts."

I think it is nice to have some family flavor in White House. It could show that they are in touch with the whole America (GASP! *ducking, waiting for kokonut carpet-bombing*)

I missed that part of the Inauguration, where the President swears that he and his family will make themselves presentable by following the edict of the general public concerning uncovered skin areas. My question still is, why does it matter? Why do we get a vote on what they do as a family on vacation, as long as it is legal?
What about this: they vacation in a secluded area of Hawaii. Somehow, a paparazzi sneaks up in the heavy forest, and takes a candid photo of Mrs Obama, wearing a thong bikini? Should we criticize this? Sorry, I did not think that fame equals dress code. There was no disrespect shown here to American citizens.

Carpet bombing? That's what my wife and I called it when my dog did a "boo boo" on the rug. There are similarities. :giggle:

Take into consideration, the Grand Canyon is HOT!!! I don't blame her for wearing shorts, she looks decent. My little cousin got sick at the Grand Canyon bec the heat was unbearable for her.

Oh yes, Did you know that? I see nothing wrong about Michelle´s shorts. It´s her shorts, what she like to wear.
