ah. I digressed. I was on the subject of whether or not if the risk of fighting for freedom is worth it or not. For your specific example - let's see...

South Korea. Afghanistan (old time). Iraq (old time). Germany. and hundreds of successful campaigns in Middle East, Europe, and Asia to combat against spread of communism.

they got their freedom from its tyranny. Before - they were treated as second-class citizens. Now they're treated as equal.

And you think that if there is enough funding, it will work also for Iran? Or is it more like "Lets fund every single possible cause and see what happens."

(You do realize that there are also failures...)
 
Then why cant the UN help fund the Iran revolution?

yes - we failed Vietnam for example. We lose some, win many. It's not about how much we can fund it. We can provide them education and tool but it's entirely up to them on how they use it and how much further they want to go. Apparently - it's working so far for them by using the tools invented by Americans - facebook, twitters, youtube, and most importantly - the Western education.

I'm more worried about the Islamic terrorists. they bomb us. never paid much attention to the IRA anyway...

So then, why need so much money? I mean the reason why people are pissed off in the first place is that we stopped giving them so much money.
