:werd: Too much paper and 1,000 places to keep that, crazy aint it eh when you just need a microchipped ID card that keeps all of your records in ONE place...your wallet.

I recently requested medical records for a hospital stay of mine that lasted a little over a month. The person I spoke to in the records department told me my entire chart was 276 pages long.

I can see where using microchips would save alot of time, effort and paper.

I hope Obama can institute some kind of a law to make that a reality because it is sorely needed.

Just dont lose that wallet! That microchipped health record will be someday more valuable than Dead Benny Franklin sitting in the wallet.

For me, I don't support microchip and it has done to damage the imagine, also additional with personal reason and don't have time to explain.

I will refuse to get microchip, thorough.

I think he mean damage to the brain???

But really I think instead of a medical card - why not just store this information on your driver's license? The police computer would only be able to retrieve the information regarding your criminal and driving record, and the hospital staff and ems would only be able to retrieve your medical history.

We have the technology, we use it everyday when we use a debit card or credit card. On my register I don't have access to your financial records, but I can charge your account. Your bank is the one that has the reader that identifies the exact account and can give a print out of your financial history - all off the same card.

We can and should utilize this information to make retrieving, and administering healthcare much more efficient and streamlined. When ems finds you unconscoius they will search you for identification - they can swipe your license on a scanner that can relay your information to the police authorities regarding your driving history and criminal record - they can see straight away if you are on a suspended license or a restricted license, are you on probation and are you allowed to be out at this hour. If you have no license and no id - they would treat you as a prison escapee until you can identify yourself and verify it. (unless the person appears to be a minor). The same scanner can also relay your medical history to the emergency room you are going to and they can already have drugs pulled according to your medical history. This can cut down on patient assesment time by requiring fewer questions to be asked and treatment - faster more accurate treatment can begin. A screen within the patient area of the ambulance can pull up a list of drugs not to use and any major medical conditions you may have for which they need to be aware of.

the problem is - privacy and Big Brother....

privacy - the information cannot be released if they don't have the correct kind of reader or software to retrieve the information.

The police would have only one kind of reader that would only read anything relating to their criminal history and driving record.

The EMS and hospital staff would need to enter a key code assigned to all accredited hospitals and clinics to access your medical history. The information file would be set up so that it would be impossible to copy it to a removable disk or to email the information to an outside party. The information on the computer would stay on the computer. All the information would be backed up on secure servers in various secure locations.

Neither reader would divulge one's financial history, SSN, or anything about their family members other than their contact information for emergencies.

despite of that..... we still have a huge rise of identity thefts and security breaches. That's why the public has a huge distrust in this whole thing.

What do you mean?

I'm strongly oppose on microchip, especially if mandatory and it's not part of America's value.

If it's optional then it's up to people but not me, no thanks.

United Nations is going takeover all world, be prepare yourself or you will be sorry.

just messing...

You could be right. Maybe, SOME DAY the United Nations will be destroyed. Who knows ? Just my opinion. :)

To some paranioa posts and also some nonsense posts as well.

Not paranoia or nonsense. Some people are being "watchful" and that doesn't mean that they are being paranoia. They are just keepin' their eyes out for deception/deceit, because some of them are VERY patriot people. They are for this country.

:ty: for clarifying Foxrac.

That's what I thought too, but given how small a microchip is, I can't imagine that being a problem.

microchip is implanted in the body fat, not in vein or wherever. Beside - I highly doubt people would allow themselves to be implanted with microchip. but there should be several ways to be identified by medical - a medical card, medical bracelet, or "e-ink" (it's like a barcode tattoo on skin).

maybe they should make a copy one for them in the their system and the copy for the client/patient's for their own protection something like that.

Medical card would work so better and all medical information can be saved on computer.

Well, people can fool with their medical card, or medical bracelet and such. They can steal or destroy it. But, with that microchip implanted in the body, people can't fool or deceit. They can't steal or destroy it, either. The word: transparency. Easier to accountable like you said "Accountability". Of course, this will take people's freedom away if, people start complainin' about fraud, or steal, or what ever. But, there's somethin' out there that is needed to be done to prevent all this from happenin'. :)

Whatcha ya think ? :cool2:

but why would they fool with their medical card? for what?

but beside that - it doesn't matter what you do, people will find a way to commit fraud/crime. you can do same with microchip - just simply take out a scalpel and cut it out and then put it in somebody else. it's not that deep inside.
