Saying Goodbye to Tigger :(

this may be belated, but sorry about your news Hear Again, i know the pain of pet loss too, my siamese cat died last week , you have my sentiments here too

I am reading a great book at present, it is that good that if you can get it, is "Goodbye , freind' by Gary Kowalski, then get it. It is an awe-inspiring book that helps to put pet loss into perspective but all the same time, it does NOT discount animals, in fact it brings it up to par as losing your loved (human) ones....

Take your time before you rush to replace, you'd never replace tigger, but you would feel more at ease with a companion/helper at your foot

Cheers

Thanks, Grummer! :)

Thank you also for the book recommendation. I will definitely take a look at it.

As for your comment about taking my time before I get another dog, that's exactly what I plan to do. The last thing I want is to immediately train with another dog since I will need time to process what happened and cope with how I feel regarding no longer being able to work Tigger in harness.

I am so sorry hear again. Many hugs for you and I will be keeping you in my thoughts.

Mind me asking u this how did ur cat died? was it sick or what?

he got ran over

Ouch sorry to hear that but glad to hear ur taking it quite well after reading a book on how to deal with it. To those who lost their pets sorry to hear but im sure u will find solace in whatever way u find comfort in and will always remember the pet in ur heart.

Hear Again,
How is Tigger doing? And more importantly, how are you doing?
People who have had pets know the sense of loss when they are no longer around. However, those of us with service dogs know there is a much deeper bond that comes from spending an extraordinary time together and from depending so much on one another. I dread that day when Travis crosses the "Rainbow Bridge", and am constantly thankful to his puppy raiser, the donors, program trainers, and everyone who helped place Travis and I together.

Hugs and good thoughts to you both.

sorry to hear about that but glad tigger is in good place with your sister I'm sure you will visit tigger when u are missing her so much :)

Doc,

<hugs back>

Tigger is doing very well at my sister's. She's happy and loves playing out in the large backyard. My sister has a long lead that she allows Tigger on during the afternoon or evening where she can run to her heart's content. Every time I see Tigger (usually every weekend), she lavishes me with plenty of hugs and kisses. She also gives me her paw. Tigger just turned 13 years old yesterday, so my sister's family and I threw a small party for Tigger with dog treats and all. LOL.

I'm afraid I haven't been doing so well. I've been struggling with a few issues, but am in the process of working through them.

:ty: for asking. :)

Hi Hear Again - I am so sorry but I did not see this thread until just right now so I never gave you my condolences. I am so sorry to hear that you have had to give Tigger to your sister but am glad that she has not passed away. I am glad that she is doing well at your sister!

*lots of hugs*

Email me any time, ok?

No problem Lucia.

:ty: for your post. :)

I'll send you an e-mail later today or tomorrow. I have an appointment with my pdoc this afternoon, so it may take me a little while to get back to you.

I'm sorry to hear about Tigger. I am sure he was much loved and will be greatly missed.
