LONDON — Britain's military says it is considering lifting rules that ban female soldiers from taking part in face-to-face combat with enemy forces.

Armed Forces minister Bob Ainsworth said on Sunday that a review will rule on whether women should take on the most dangerous warfare roles.

Female soldiers are currently banned from close combat. A review in 2002 ruled it would be too difficult to integrate women into male units.

It means that no women soldiers are able to join specialist missions to seek out and kill the enemy.

British women do serve in front-line military roles, carrying out tasks like foot patrols and flying attack helicopters.

Ainsworth says the review is partly in response to European Union rules on gender equality.

Yow talk about sexist. :o

At least it helps protect women from going into combat since war is a man's business. :P lol

HOWEVER...there is a known fact that most top secret assassins are female.

If they are "top secret" how is it a known fact? :giggle:

because as long as it's a secret, there names and careers are not released to the public.
So if it's kept secret, how is it a "known fact" that they are assassins?

If you check thru results such as that most females are better shooters than males...it is not much of a surprise.

So much for the "women can't shoot" crap eh?

Ask the military, the government, gun instructor, or whatever.
My first year in the Navy was the first time I had picked up a gun. I scored Expert on pistol on my first try. Each time that I had to renew my ribbon, I scored Expert. I had no bad habits to break with shooting, so I learned the right way from the get go.

raise the ban females have the right to die and be massacred the same as anyone else raise the ban!!!!!
