Playstation 2 Slim Problem.

I decide take it out of my closet. I plug it up and playing some Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist Trophy for refresh. :D I don't played PS2 for 3 years! :shock: My problem is PS2 don't read GT4 very good and freeze 4 times today. My GT4 Disc is good and clean, I left it in PS2 for long time (3+ years). Maybe DVD-ROM laser got bad, or what? :dunno:
 
your PS2 has collected plenty of dust, check the machine for hidden dust, and have it cleaned.
 
When I dont play the videogame consoles in a long time, I put them inside plastic bags in boxes to prevent from dust getting into those consoles so help them stay squeaky clean for years.

Just check inside of the CD case, and what foxrac just said, use the tools to uncover the case of the PS2.....men needs to think more better :lol: (that includes myself, :doh:)

No way, Jose! :shock: I can't open the I 1/2 years old PS2. I just bought it 4 years ago(March 2005) when GT4 released. I played it for almost I 1/2 years until I got X-Box 360 on Christmas 2006, I retired my PS2 after playing my 360. :)

then call Sony and enjoy to pay $$$$$ for repair.
 
Try cleaning laser len using windex. All you need to use cotton swab and spray it on swaB then clean it then flip the swab over (use dry swab) for drying and "polishing". Then give it a try to see if it still plays.

Thanks Catty! It read huge improvement and faster loading. :D Now I palying my favorite game in the world! :D

Figures..

I have done that before on my CDrom drive. Sometime dust collects over the time and CDrom stop working until I clean the laser len. It helps big time.

What's your favorite PSP games?
Mine - Ultimate Warrior, Patapon, and I love to download youtube clips.
When mine freezes, I take out battery, take out disc, let rest. Replace battery and it will start, then I remove all screensavers or wall paper. Then it restarts good next time.
THanks for the lens cleaning tip. Had no clue you could do that..
What do you do if the game screen flickers?
