Damn shame for hardcore FPS fans looking forward to the new Duke Nukem title until 3D realms was shut down not too long ago.

However there is another FPS title that isnt very highly acclaimed but very good so far on PC and Xbox years ago called Serious Sam.

Serious Sam and the sequel to the same title on Xbox sold rather well as Croteam said they are already working on Serious Sam 3. :)

Sounds pretty neat...I totally love Serious Sam with all the non stop shooting madness and over flooded of enemies at every second of the game it's totally insane lol.

Oh, guess what... Take Two is suing 3DRealms for not completing Duke Nukem Forever after 12 years of working on it.

Yep, I posted a link in the Duke Nukem Forever thread there.

I dont blame Take Two for suing them...3DRealms totally fucked up the project after they paid them millions of dollars and they just threw it away like it was nothing so...very bad decision. If they cant finish it then at least give it to some other ppl who knows how to do things right.

Not very highly acclaimed? Wikipedia says,

The First Encounter was the recipient of various editorial and consumer praise, with an overall 83% review ratio on Game Rankings as of October 1, 2007. It was the recipient of several major awards from the media, including Game of the Year.

* Game of the Year (PC) (2001) – GameSpot
* Editor's Choice – IGN
* Outstanding Achievement in Technology (2001) – IGN Action Vault
* Surprise of the Year (2001) – IGN Action Vault

As for The Second Encounter, it has 85% on Game Rankings. Similar story for both games on Metacritic and GameStats.

It wasn't universal acclaim, but 85% is still a good bit of critical praise. The hardcore gamers loved it, too.
