YES!
My co-op is having a big Earth Day bash with an electric car show this weekend, I might go -

Happy Earth Day

I wanted to say "Happy Earth Day" and also please recycle, reuse and keep clean! I wish Earth Day is a everyday...not once a year! We really need to work hard to keep this planet clean for future generations and make life easier for them.

Do you have any idea that many countries worldwide are not as environmentally friendly compared to other countries? They do excessive logging of forests, don't recycle, too much trash, water and air pollution and the list goes on. It's really sad that so many people don't care about it and all they care is about money or don't bother learning to go green.

Let's take look at this beautiful temperate Rainforest here in Washington...let's keep the Mother Earth beautiful and natural as possible. (I took this picture 1 1/2 weeks ago)

We recycle everything. Also we use cloth shopping bags. Try to save energy by turning off lights when not in use, and heat lower in winter air conditioning not set too cool in summer, use fans instead as long as possible.

Also the low energy light bulbs. There are lots of easy things everyone can do.

Mod - please merge this thread with other thread called "Happy Earth Day"

Sequoia, that IS a beautiful picture...don't know if anyone D/deafblind wants description of it....

never been to Wash. state, but have read how the rain forests are there. I would love to see that-

Photo is magick, reminds me of the rainforests in North Van...my heart home. The moss, the fresh, the lush growth, the spongy earth, it vibrates with fresh green, aaaaaah.

My son woke up this morning to tell me to turn off all the lights for Earth day! Ha ha.

Yes, we recycle, reuse, do second hand, eat local and organic, live quite frugally. there is always more we can do, I think my biggest bad is my vehicle, a big Mom sized van to hold lotsa kids.

Hello there Moon-child,

we eat organic/local as much as possible too<less meat for hubby, I eat mostly vegan>. No landscaped and pesticide-free yard. Do have a mini-van for furry "kids". A Honda.

That's great some of you are trying to be enivronmentally conicious! I recycle, turn off lights in the day time, try to reuse materials if usable, etc.

Happy Earth Day everyone!! We recycle all plastics, Paper and Aluminum! Today President Obama is spending the day in Iowa! Iowa is #2 in wind energy production, a leader in biofuels and a leader in energy-efficiency polices. Remember to be green everyone!

BEAUTIFUL PICTURE!!! I do miss Washington!!! So greeeeeeeeeeen! :)

I kept forgetting to take my reuse bags for groceries! I gotta to put it by the door not in the kitchen! LOL!

Yea I've told everyone in the house to keep light off when done using the room (such as kitchen or bedroom or bathroom etc). We use the energy saver light (the spiral ones) bulb and I love it. It last longer than regular bulb. :) I do still use the regular bulb for only flash for phone/doorbell. I don't get calls or doorbell much so I am not worry. :)

Thread's merged. :thumb:

Nice pic, man.

I like to keep earth so clean as possible.

Shame on China (PRC) for leading to most consumption of emission and world worst pollution.

Thanks everyone for the complient of the picture I took. I am rolling eyes at my work (Enterprise Rent a Car) for not recycling. We have to throw everything away in the trash bin, even the ones that can be recycled. I asked them to get a recycle bin but they said Bellevue don't have recycling program, wtf? I don't believe him.

we used to be like that during Industrial Age. so did all modern countries such as Europe, Japan, Korea, etc. Now China's going thru that same phase - it's in Manufacturing Phase. I only hope that China gets past it very soon.

Agricultural Phase --> Industrial Phase --> Manufacturing Phase --> Service Phase

something I learned from my college but my memory's bit foggy on that....

I'm not surprised. Recycling Program costs money. with this economy going on... sad that they gotta cut corner by cutting recycling program.

I have a recycling center about 3k from me... :D It's pretty convenient and I drive there once per month to trash everything away. Of course I also have one separate trashbin for *every day* trash.

I'm a recycle maniac :D Even separate different glass colors and different kind of plastics. Whenever my friend is visiting me I am driving her nuts ;)

It's such a pity to know that many people either don't have access to recycling centers or are still not aware what they are supposed to do to save the planet! :mad2:

Well, it has been like that since I started working there on Nov 2007...that's before the economy took a nosedive. It's nothing new.
