I think you got it covered :) Hope all goes well. My daughter was 14 when she was re-implanted and she was fine after a day or two.

What basically happened is that one by one electrodes kept "shorting out". In the beginning and this is a process that took over a year, they were able to map around those electrodes but eventually they could no longer do so.

Cochlear came out, did an integrity test and then she had the operation. We scheduled it around Thanksgiving to minimize the amount of school time that she would miss and each day her best friend would come over with homework and hang out. I think she only missed about 4-5 school days.

Why is she having Advanced Bionics if she was previously implanted by Cochlear
