'Jihadi rehab' is a possibility for post-Gitmo

I think I would rather have these "terrorists" be "de-programmed" in the United States instead of sending them to Saudi Arabia.
No can do in the States if it's religious based de-programming?

and if they escape in the other countries, it would be easier for them to go back to the Al-Queda cells in which they do come on U.S.A soil under false pretenses anyway...

...and if they come to the u.s. under false pretenses, it's the job of homeland security to do something about it. the less terrorists who are in our country, the better.

it's better that gitmo prisoners stay in a completely different country than our own. besides, there's no need to risk an increased chance of more terrorism. they need to stay OUT of our country, period.

Excuse me?

They are already in our country. They are in Gitmo which is American soil.

American military bases are considered "American soil" regardless of what country they are in.

by the way, we have terrorist cells here, so what's the difference, shel? :hmm:

That means Homeland Security would have to do racial profiling...I think the more prisoners are de-programmed, the better. Whatever was done before didnt work..time for a "change".

Yea, and how they came here was under false pretenses...if we de-program the prisoners, then they wouldnt want to return to the cells anywhere.

Saudi Arabia government has already used this program several years ago.. I believe during Clinton Administration.
I don't know about the Saudi track record:

"Saudi Arabia acknowledged for the first time that 15 of the Sept. 11 suicide hijackers were Saudi citizens, but said Wednesday that the oil-rich kingdom bears no responsibility for their actions...."

USATODAY.com - Official: 15 of 19 Sept. 11 hijackers were Saudi

Yeah well--I don't trust Saudi Arabia. A country that cliams to be a democracy and yet--they treat their women like crap.

:hmm: the last time i checked, cuba was a country and wasn't part of the u.s.

Saudi Arabia has its own terrorism problems by suicide bombers... which is why they have "deprogramming" program.

:hmm: the last time i checked, cuba was a country and wasn't part of the u.s. gitmo is a u.s. naval base -- not a state within the u.s.

It's still considered American. Just like American Embassies abroad--it's still considered American soil.

ok lol. how about this - "detached" American soil. or "American soil per se"

Yea, and how they came here was under false pretenses...if we de-program the prisoners, then they wouldnt want to return to the cells anywhere.

if you plan to de-program them through religious practices, that effort would be futile.

So what other tactic would u use...go back to the old ways when it didnt work?

which is what Saudi Arabia's program was about... to re-educate them on accurate interpretation of Koran teaching.

still better they remain in that country than our own.
