How do you feel when someone stare at you....

i just look at the person and smile. then, i just walk away.

If I am in very intense conversation I don't notice. If someone comes up to me I take the chance to education them about sign language and Deaf culture...at least if I'm in a good mood that is. :p Otherwise I just ignore them.

That ought to be enough to make them turn the other way, lol.

OT: are you deaf or hearing? It once never crossed my mind to ask you..:hmm:

Are you asking Jiro? He is deaf. (and now that you asked him, he is :mad2: ) :P

Most of the time, I will just glance at them to see who is staring at me then just go back to either chatting or doing whatever I was doing.

With strangers, I just let it slide because I know I won't see them again but with my friends, mere acquaintances or family .. I more likely will stare back at them and go "What?"

I either  or :squint: depending on my mood when a person either smile or mock at me.

If a person stares too long, I'll stare back at them and do a little Alexis Colby imitation. :giggle:

That usually sends them looking the opposite direction!!

alexis colby imitation? by the way, i clicked on the link, but still don't understand. <confused>

Oh sorry about that! Growing up, I always watched Dynasty, the show.

There was this wonderful woman, you probably call her a villianess but I call her a great asset!! She's known as Alexis Colby Carrington Dexter Roman and she has bedded & married so many men on the show.

Alexis has this particular facial/neck twist that she does when she's really P.Oed and she does this to just anyone/anything that moves and breathes, LOL!

I love this actress, Joan Collins, who plays Alexis because she's amazing at being a real b*tch.

i can't remember whether or not i responded in this thread. depending on my mood, i'll either take the time to educate others (if someone makes me aware of the fact that a person is staring at me i will smile and say, "may i help you?") or completely ignore them. sometimes i really need to be careful of how i respond when i'm manic due to my bipolar because i can get sarcastic and say things i don't really mean. if i'm depressed, knowing that someone is staring at me can cause me to feel extremely self-conscious, so as i said, alot of this is dependent upon my moods.

i was a little too young to enjoy dynasty until the mid to late 80s when i was a teenager and could actually understand the show.

however, i am familiar with alexis colby, but not with her facial habits since i was born totally blind. LOL!

thanks for the explanation!

Believe me, I was a wee too young to enjoy Dynasty but I always begged my Mom to let me stay up later than usual every Thursday evening.

Even the teacher would ask my Mom why I'd be sleepy on Fridays but would be so imaginative with my stories to the point I would really embellish on the details.

Mom would admit letting me watch Dynasty much to the teachers' surprise because they watched the show too!

Me, too. I remember my deaf friends and I used to watch Dynasty and also, Dallas-Who shot J.R. Ewing? They were good shows.
Joan Collins (as Alexis) who is a British actress and she's also a best-selling author. I have read some of hers. :D

I'd simply ignore people who are staring at me and my deaf/hearing friends at the restaurant or any place, that's their loss, not ours. :)
