I have been a veg for almost an entire year :D
I love it and I'm not going back, I'm trying to be a vegan but living in my parents house, it will not be possible.
Anyone on here a vegetarian like me?

I am half-vegetarian but dammit I like meat. :mad2:

I'm vegetarian for six years now.. Yes I'm in process to become vegan, too..
I'm on about 89% vegan diet. Thanks to my lovely guy who willing let me to get out of dorm and stay over his apt. so I can eat vegan food

College campus isnt easy for vegan people..

Taurus, the secret to vegan food in a college dining hall is, if your school isn't one of the more modern ones with dedicated vegetarian serving, making friendly with the kitchen staff.

There were quite a few events in which there was not a vegan serving (especially over summer term) or when I couldn't eat the vegan serving, and I would just ask whoever was working that day if they could whip something up.. I never went hungry, although I did have a whole LOT of stir fry in college!

If you've spoken to them before hand and you're not just a stranger going "hey, make me some some different food!" at dinner-time, you'll have a LOT better luck getting what you want.

I'm trying vegetarian for few months to see if it works for me, as a part of my new year resolution. I'm beginning to feel very sorry for animals, and I think my body can't really handle a lot of meat anyway.

I'm not a strict vegetarian, but I do eat mostly vegetarian. I grew up on a meat-heavy diet, but I realized my body just functions better and I feel more energetic when I don't overload my system with protein from meat. So I eat meat about once a week to every ten days.

Oh wow I envy you! I wish I could be a vegan, I cannot really do it right now because I live with a hunting/meat-loving family that does NOT buy things that are vegan friendly. When I get my own place I will be in control and be a vegan! =D

I don't really understand why people choose to be vegetarians? Meat/Chicken/Fish are way too delicious to resist. Anyways how do I tell when a vegan is in a restaurant? That is when they're the person who spends an hour talking to the waiter, and then orders a plain salad with oil and vinegar on the side.

Most girls are vegetarians than guys, that's because they are trying to lose some weight by eating lot of fruits/vegetables. :aw:

It's because some people care about animals so we don't want to eat them when it's not really neccessary. I'm also concerned about the cruelty that goes into factory farming.

I avoid restaurants that serve meat as I can't stand the smell. When I do go to restaurants I don't spend time discussing the menu. You stop bothing with that after you've been vegan a bit. I also don't always eat salad. If I think I'm going to have any problems at a restaurant I either don't eat or bring my own food with me.

Look at another animal doing cruelty to another animal, why didn't you stop them?
